And I mean yeah, this is the LEAST offensive lab mechanic, but GGG is certainly driving home the "we don't give a shit if you like the game or not" mentality with this questionable move to do anything other than run away from lab mechanics as fast as they can. Really if they give a shit about their players at all they'd make lab an OPTIONAL AREA with good rewards but rewards that you CAN get elsewhere for maybe a little more effort involving not-frogger. my evasion is so high i only insta rip sometimes ----- Bug Fixes: People were using cyclone for actual melee builds, so we nerfed it and made blade vortex. I welcome the change entirely and i look forward to more bosses with more difficult mechanics and seeing even the older bosses reworked to be more difficult. A person who isnt playing meta isnt going to be oneshotting these bosses nor are they going to have an easy time when the mods are rolled well. Cast on Crit is getting nerfed, Bladefall, while strong, has shit clear in comparison. The only reason Bladefall is even good right now is because double dipping which is arguably a broken mechanic that needs to be fixed just like snap shotting but thats an argument for another thread entirely. Really, the old meta of bladefall, flameblast, bladevortex, regular vortex, coc discharge, bow-anything isn't changing this update at all. They might modify one or two small things here or there but I fully expect the game to pretty much be exactly the same in 2.4 as it has been since release - one semi-nerfed pseudo-"melee" skill, 3 caster skills, 2 bow skills meta. There will be a handful of players who still believes GGG gives a flying fuck about viper strike (or insert random non-EQ non-reave melee skill) desperately trying to make viper strike builds on their occultist witches. Oh and they're adding channeling skills I think? That will be the new OPFOTM meta, because it's a new caster gem. Count on it. I never watch videos, and the labyrinth in its current state is crummy, but the boss encounter in question looked like traps done right from my perspective. Shame that it's gated behind the power of ascendancies.

I think OP is overreacting.
Pulling levers to open doors or turn off things doesn't make it the "horrible lab" you claim it to be. When you start getting large areas full of complex trap placements that will shred you if you take the wrong step, your complaints would be justified. I'm sorry, but I don't see anything wrong with what GGG has implemented with the revamped maps. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish. |

No. You suggested that vortex isn't even that good, I gave an example of something that makes vortex look like a lawnmower. You call it derailing a thread, I call it killing two birds with one stone. In the end it doesn't matter, GGG clearly isn't going to read this thread anyways, and if they did, nothing would come out of it.
