The Labyrinth needs a total re-work.

It's not the satisfaction of me beeing right, I 100% understand that some people don't like the lab and I agree they have the right to express their opinion.

What I can't stand is the endless spam of useless one liner threads containing zero feedbacks by a bunch of people who proclaimed themself the SJW of PoE speaking for their (imaginary) ignored and bullied minority.

GGG is aware of your opinion, every player is aware of your opinion, God even blind and death aliens from Alpha Centaury are aware of your opinion.
You have a bunch of very interesting threads to discuss this subject (yes I read those, and I agree on some arguments there), spamming the forum won't change a damn thing. Even worse, it turn potential supporter to your cause against you.

Regardless of who is right or wrong, it's pretty sickening to see some people being actually *happy* to see other players leave.

This is far from a 'win-win' situation.

Many players leave over the labyrinth. They lose a game they used to love.
GGG loses the financial support of those players.
Which means even *you* lose over time, because less money for GGG is less new content in the future.

Where is there any 'win' in all that ? Oh right, you get to not see people of different opinions posting on 'your' forum (yours, huh ? And here I was, dense as I am, thinking forums were meant for all players).

While people leaving over the lab are most certainly a minority, don't be too quick to assume they're a *tiny* minority. Nobody has actual numbers on this, short of a survey conducted and advertised by GGG, which will never happen.

They could be 5%. Or they could be 45%.

Only sure thing is that nowadays, less than 15% of people play HC. You could think (that is, if you gave a fuck) most players just switched to SC, but it's most probably not the case. It's practically impossible to switch to SC when you've been playing HC all your life. You simply fall asleep on your keyboard.

Personnally I still consider the %-damage trap mechanics as unfair, in a HC perspective. And I believe it's a big reason for the plumetting of HC attendance.

I was on the verge of leaving when labyrinth came out, and then I thought "well, GGG is no more a 10-people team, so now there is some 'inertia' to the balancing of things, based on feedback and statistics on their side.. so let's give them time to react."
So I played Prophecy and enjoyed myself.

Now if, as you 'predicted', there is not a single line about the labyrinth in 2.4 patch notes, that will be the last straw for me.

And you can be sure that giving *you* the satisfaction of being right is in no way enough to offset *my* disapointment about leaving a game I love and support since closed beta days.

It's safe to assume it's not a win on GGG's side either.

Excellent post and I agree with pretty much everything.

@patirce

You think the smaller HC playerbase has to do with the lab, but you refuse to acknowledge lots of factors of the timing, its ok not everyone can see the larger picture. I've stated them many times before but if you need to know them, I can say them again.

Wich I'm glad they did, they can enjoy a game they really like instead of spending their time complaining here and we can have our forum back. Everyone win.

This was great, man. Big thumb-up. And as someone who has given many dollars to GGG over the years, I empathize with you.

I have issues with the lab, but would never suggest GGG or any developer cave into the suggestions from someone who admits themselves that don't even play.

I don't believe you can't find time to labyrinth if you managed to get there in the first place. There are tons of casual games that promote, even advertise 5 - 10 minute game sessions for the low attention spans (AKA ppl who don't have enough time)

All we know about why you don't like the lab is based on what you wrote. And that is it takes too much time. Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback, but time taken to complete, I'm not sure is something that will be modified simply cause casual players exist.
Ho no, the trap cancer is spreading. Lost Ark have some too.

Quick you guys, jump on their forum and stop the trap madness to spread before it's late.

and you think that the only reason for that is the Lab? really?

for me the MOST probable reason is: no extra bragging rights. second most important is: one league (content wise) so people are no longer FORCED to play HC because they like league mods more AND/OR like league items more

add to that ATROCIOUS game stability on each release since forever and there is pretty much only one reason to play HC right now: if one just wants to play HC + the extra smug

as for the lab: you talk about % traps? and then I know that you havent simply got there yet. the traps are a non issue once you know how to play them or around them! it really is that simple - their damage % or whatever is irrelevant. just do not get git too often, read the patterns and you can do them with the most non-Jugg character out there

the Lab + HC is not 'liked' also due to.. well.. incompatibility with the most prevalent skill in HC called Chicken Logout. in map you can still return, in Lab - sorry, start over again.

note: the HC population would TANK to pretty much 5% or less if POE had logout timeout/tp-timeout.

Hardcore in PoE is the definition of ultra hardcore. No other game is as punishing as PoE for hardcore because of all the ways you can die that are not your fault.
