Power creep is real, there is no denial.

Right now I'm thinking they are just overshooting with their design plans. I'm certain they are preapring for 2017 a5 release with this ****, but they overlook the fact that a big chunk of the playerbase might as well be gone by then.

Seriously GGG, look around. People are going batshit. Fix the power creep, give better incentives to do harder content in the game. Risk and reward is the best policy here.

You can't let people upgrade gorge to t11 or 12 whatever it was, dump item bases like that on people, and expect anything in the game to change. You had a great "sort-of-like-story-arc applied to progression in maps" idea with the atlas of worlds, trying to break the "2-min-same-map-run-all-day routine." It's gonna go to waste because of the power creep.

What exactly do you want? You are saying that they were going towards breaking the speed-map meta but with more power creep it'll still be easy to speed map? Why is this inherently a problem? Isn't it the goal of any competitive player to be able to play a powerful character and clear content quickly? I see complaints like yours all the time about power creep and I'm never sure exactly what you people are asking, do you just want the game to crawl? For every action to take much longer? Do you want maps to take 20 minutes to clear? I mean what's the alternative...

"People like me" want to create the best builds, make no mistake. We want the fastest clear speed and we want to trivialize content with our setups. BUT we want to do that inside a set of rules that give us a challange to overcome. Otherwise there is no point, because anyone can do it. No challange.

You can take extra risks of course, go run twinned core on hc or something. BUT there are no decent rewards. Again, there is no point.

Just to be fair to GGG: I think introducing the item bases for endgame is great, updating the obsolete ones, all good - BUT not in the current circumstances, with power creep and people running gorges 2min at a time whole day because there is no incentive to do anything else.

Even leveling itself on HC used to be a challange, you know. Now it's an easy, tedious chore.

TLDR: the rise of "power" of builds is fine. Introducing powerful **** is fine; BUT you need to REWARD the players that actually take the RISKS and introduce those new CHALLANGES into the game. If all you do is drop power on poeple for no reson, then we have "power creep", and it's gonna be ultimately a boring game.

I don't understand why peoples complaining about energy shield builds.they have 0 armor and evasion. some players make cap eva/armor block builds with hp. where hp is like 10 times the amount. if ES gets 0 eva armor or low block.
if you think that 10k+ es build can make builds with cap armor/eva block like that i want to see that build clear speed.

you are very very inexperienced then. look at the passive tree and check the Alchemist node. see it? then get granite + jade with +95% rolls each. add flask duration mod to a belt and enjoy 9k ar from flasks alone. basalt + endurance charges can be added if you need them.

you downplay how sick base defences flasks can give you - you do it because you a) do not understand the mechanics or b) want to abuse it and fear it being removed.

ES builds are crazy good even with mediocre gear (500ES chest, 300ES shield + stuff) and AR/EV they get from belt roll and flasks
Might as well ignore all the feedback in one of these threads past the 9th page, usually when feedback end and the masochistic nerf/power creed whining begins.

Super excited for the next league and the new bases.

What it means is you will need even less gear etc to get to the point where you are clearing the map at the pace you walk through it. In the current game with a decent knowledge it takes very little time and effort to get to a point where though upgrades for your build may exist they aren't meaningful because they give you stats to do more damage or give more defense to mobs who do not kill you or already die in one hit. This powercreep just continues to make this process happen sooner and taking away the Stat aspect of the ARPG genre pushing it more towards Diablo 3 and what they did to stats. IF your stats don't matter this game turns into a walking simulator and that is the fear the veteran players have. Simply tired of walking through a random tileset of experience globes that we obtain without risk or interest

It's a good thing the developers don't listen to people like you.

Passives matter a lot in this game, it is never going to not matter. The passive tree in this game makes this game unique, why would GGG try to undermine it? GGG doesn't make gear that makes passive not matter. Point out one set of gear that can allow you to not put any points into passive and still let you do end-game maps. Here's a hint, you can't.

There will always be risk, unless you are actually able to find a combination that lets you take next to no damage and regen it back without worry. Then GGG just nerfs it like artic armour. So don't worry, the fear that this will become a walking simulator is non-existent.

Having more powerful gear is call progress. Not adding things, is call stagnation. If GGG actually listened to your type of fearmongering, this game would die in a hole of stagnation as everyone gets bored of nothing new happening.

New things are something to work toward, and there are new leagues that allow people to start over. So even if it were possible reach the point that almost nothing can touch you, it would still just become a goal to work toward. Something to strive for, but most never reach although they try anyway because they find the game fun.

There is nothing wrong with allowing people to enjoy themselves by reaching a goal.

I hear people whine about "powercreep". All I'm really seeing is immature children who don't want others to have dreams.

Go play temporary leagues if you don't want everyone to be "invincible". It's one of the reasons why it exists. It's called a "fresh start" for a reason.
if flasks are OP with CI, then add some flask negative mod to the CI node - solved.

pure nonsense, I dont think you understand what power creep means.
hint: it is a comparative increase of player power of iteration B of the game over iteration A of the game
