All brazilian players from a huge ISP are having the same "Failed to connect to instance" problem
" Mainly because you didn't follow the forum rules in order to get support. In addition to that, why should GGG have to post anything, especially saying there's nothing they can do? It's hard to provide support in a 3-page thread full of "me too" and no actual data (or sparse data). Read the "Rules" sticky post, create your own detailed thread with data, and you might actually get help. |
|
oh yes, lets create countless threads that gets no feedback either, the people posting here are suffering from the very same problem, as a valued poster i was expecting you to answer the OP , instead you take your very valued time to bicker at me for no reason.

Apparently a shitton of players saying they have THE SAME FUCKING PROBLEM it's not enough "data" so lets create another 500 threads with winmtr results so we can get a "It's your ISP's fault" from the very helpful and polite "valued poster" Drakier. Sounds like a plan boyz

If you all are actually having the same problem, it's not likely GGG's issue since there's nothing wrong with the BR server.
That would lead to a conclusion that it's regional and likely provider related. I haven't seen data really to make any sort of educated guess even. The "Rules" are there for a reason, and it's so everyone can get their problems addressed rather than hijacked. Hijacking a support thread is just rude and causes them to become ignored. |

there you go sir, thank you. the original poster mentioned something about IBM (softlayer) timeouts or something , is there any fundament on it? if not we are doomed with this garbage VIVO, i called them today after 20 mins or so in the phone they come with "everything seems fine in our end" kind of answer
Editing : didnt mean to hijack this thread or whatever that is, who read the rules anyways...we learn everyday Last edited by Exill#0487 on Jun 30, 2016, 11:23:39 PM

I'm not sure what IBM has to do with anything, but from the traces shown (limited), it's not manifesting as a disconnection or packet loss in the trace.
Doesn't mean it isn't a network issue still as there is a lot of other stuff going on (like packet filtering, traffic shaping, etc). If it seems that all the users having issues are on the same ISP, there's likely something going on with that ISP. In the past, we've seen issues with hardware at the ISP inadvertently filtering data poorly for PoE, but not ICMP which is what the trace uses. Sometimes you can increase packet size to see an issue show up, and other times you have to use TCP or similar with a different application like PingPlotter. |
|
ill download this pingplotter thing and try a game session of 1 hour plus and post the results in a new thread so theres more data for you guys to analize. And thanks again for providing some insights.

As people mentioned before, using WTFast solved the problem for me. The trick is not to let WTFast use "Auto select best connect route", but instead choose "Manually customize network route" and then (if you're playing in Sao Paulo - BR realm you should choose any "Sao Paulo - Brazil N", the one that fits the best. I for one use Sao Paulo - Brazil 3 since it had less ping.
If you let WTFast choose automatically it will opt for the a US route because it's default for PoE or some other reason (maybe cuz you select the server inside the game, when it has already made it's choice). Also you guys should stop fighting each other because of forum rules or whatever. Wanna discuss other crap other than technical issues? Do it in private. You aren't helping at all. |

" Well technically it's a workaround, not a proper "solution" since the problem persists - but yeah, I'm relying on third parties as well to be able to play (using Pingzapper atm). I've been in contact with support for a while and asked them to drop by, but here's the feedback I got so far: " from Grinding Gear Games: " It looks like we're alone in this, guys. It's "People against Vivo" as usual. Last edited by ovogancho#4643 on Jul 1, 2016, 11:14:19 AM

It's pretty clear that the problem is with VIVO in this situation.
But what GGG don't understand is that we are in Brazil, and things here are not solved like in other places. A few dozen people calling VIVO and complaining won't solve anything at all, as the support people are not even competent enough to understand the problem, and won't even forward the problem to their supervisors. Chances are that if GGG or softlayer don't step up and talk directly with VIVO, the problem will remain forever, and GGG will lose a lot of players. IGN: vieira
