How to turn off the background loading properly if you have performance issues
I can confirm this is working.
Fps are back to the old state (from ~40 without this fix back to stable 60 vsync locked). Thx Chris (although i didn't understand the change in the first place) IGN: Darkrox (not my main, just for easy contact)

Just want to post that the game works good now, no crashes in town. In fact starting the game is still faster than before. The only thing I noticed that is slower is first time loading the town. But anyway, for me the problem is fixed.

Longer loading screens are much preferred over stutters during gameplay. That "performance improvement" is/was much worse than the situation in 2.2. Note that I did not have outrageous problems like some other people.
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

Have to add here that the async loading is MUCH better for safe zones than the --noasync option!
Best would be to have fast/async loading for towns & hideout and proper preloading without later stutters for dangerous zones. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

thanks you ggg,
I will be setting that parameter next execution. I'm glad that so many benefited and that the fix for those who didn't is so easily implemented. good luck with the rest of your work. maybe within a few weeks or months I can turn this parameter off. |

Any updates on this?
Lost my rank 40 character while using noasync, the issue still exists attackign into a mob, I've tried noasync, I've tried nosound, I've had countless phonecalls with my ISP. I'm literally getting nothing other than there is no issue. Yet here I am, constant latency spikes, constant disappointments, and no real answers. If this has to be the end of poe for me, by all means it will, Its just unfortunate that no legitimate fix for something that wasn't broken prior to these amazing performance fixes is provided outside of quitting or playing the game without sound, or sacrificing three goats. | |
" I've nearly had it, their idea of fixing this is leaving us with the task of adding an annotation "--noasync, nopreload, waitforpreload" whatever is their awnser. Their awnser is to patch that in so players aren't spending their time fixing the game their suppose to play. |
