[2.6] The Curse Whisperer - Tri-Curse CI Whispering Ice Elementalist - Viable for Everything

So, as to make a list of the changes:

-Replace Spell Echo and Concentrated Effect/Item Rarity for CwC and SR, you may swap another support gem for Item Rarity.
-Replace Lightning Golem with either Chaos Golem or Ice Golem. For Ice Golem you need to recolor your helmet, changing the blue socket of Enlighten to green.
-Remove Enlighten and, as said above, replace for green socket if you're going for Ice Golem, or for red if you need so.
-Whatever you do you will get an extra socket which will be either blue if you use Ice Golem or whatever color you want if you use Chaos Golem instead.
-Items, passives, flasks don't change.

-Edit: You can also move your CWDT+Immortal Call+Flame Golem+Ice Golem to your helmet, and your Blasphemy+Warlord's Mark+Arctic Armour/Discipline to your gloves, leaving an extra socket.

Correct me if i'm wrong anywhere.

Hello page 200! In almost exactly 6 months. Not bad for a build that was never mainstream OP flavor of the month used by the major streamers. )))

Congrats and thank you very much for the build :).

It will not work. Autocast from CWDT will make second Flame Golem, overriding Ice golem, alas!

Then either don't link it or just get a higher level Flame Golem than CWDT.

Don't split the golems, having them pop together from CWDT is very convenient. But without Enlighten the coloring options are much more flexible indeed. +1 level Discipline is the same as +12 ES on any item (+15 if it's lv 21), not really important. You can color the helmet RRRG and get tougher golems and longer IC, while Discipline and Blasphemy-WM fit naturally into the boots or gloves.

Haven't though about that, I'll see if I can recolor that way.

Edit: You can do that, and most likely we'll only need a blue extra socket, however although possible getting a red or green socket on our gloves would probably be quite a problem.

Though about that, but i'am so greedy, 12ES :) But golems autocast much more important in boss fight or breach.
What gem would be better for empty slot? I though about Decoy Totem, vaal skeletons or Vaal Discipline.

Vaal Discipline in hardcore or if you die a lot. For lab too, it would be nice for traps.

Vaal Skeletons for getting saved if you're going to die. Using them on a strongbox or as a distraction against bosses is quite effective.

Hey Kelvynn,

have you tested the new jewel "The Green Dream". Is it worth to get one for my WI-char in standard?

It's a Breach-only drop, not available in Standard (unless you can get one ripped from BHC but I wouldn't count on it; 40ex right now on poe.trade). I haven't tried it in the league yet.

Gaining 5% damage as chaos is similar to 5% MORE, but I doubt that it's going to be as good as a 50 value jewel (Izaro or 4-mod). You already have a 3x more powerful option for this in a flask, without spending a jewel socket:

Placing this jewel in the Witch area socket where it reaches Frost Walker essentially gives you 3 frenzy charges (12% MORE damage) during trash clear, and then swap it back for the boss. That's fine, but it's an overkill, we already clear maps with IR easily. I'm too lazy to swap jewels that often. :)

The only place where I can see a real use for this jewel is the Uul/Chayla Domain. That's where it should be really nice to have. But that's a very specific case.

Thx for Reply.

I would get it in normal Breach and wait until the league is over. I have done it same way with my int crystal belt last league. I prefer normal play without scoring ray / cast while channeling. More cast speed should be useful aswell. I think i will buy one and test it out after league is over.

I think i sniped a perfect rare jewel a few days ago for 50 c. That was pretty lucky, because it was online for more than 6 hours.

about cwdt (1) - wm (5) vs blasphemy (20) - wm (20):

Needing to take damage to trigger extra leech can be unsafe. WM aura also makes everything near you get perma-stunned by Icestorm, that alone is better than, say, aurafying TC. You can run PoE but only for the maps where you don't need the other Purity setup for the boss. In those setups you can't CWDT WM because you'll get killed while it's triggering (Shaper, Phoenix). So then it's just an anti-EW setup? But EW is already not a big deal for the Elementalist. I wish there was another super useful aura that cost less than 50% mana. But I don't see one.

I have been using the cwdt wm setup for several leagues now and not once felt like a rip or a risky situation came from having to take one initial hit to get from 2% leech to 4%. the stuns are nice, but can fail when you need them the most: against tough bosses. 4% chance to stun per hit (10% by default, times 0.4 for the boss curse effectiveness) are not reliable before we have several icestorms stacked on the boss. by that time, my cwdt setup has wm up as well.

what I am doing with the "freed up mana" is the following: for ordinary maps, I need neither a purity nor arctic armour, so I use haste instead. helps with move and cast speed, which are the limiting factors for clearspeed on WI. (I'm using selfcast...)

If the map has ele weakness, I switch back to purity of elements. when I'm doing tough content (guardians, shaper, uber, high maps with insane damage rolls), I use the most appropriate purity plus arctic armor.

gotta admit though that my whole setup only works with good enough gear.
Plz explain me why we don't need enlighten anymore ?
