Is it time for PoE to have a proper tutorial?

Starting experience is already straightforward: use your RMB to kill the monsters with chosen skills. Use gear with more stats. That's all. You don't need right gear for normal. You don't need right build. You don't need right skills. Moreover, current skill tree is quite straightforward too: like, you want to play archer -> you get ranger -> you get projectile damage nodes -> she rocks.

My gf tried to play PoE as an ordinary single player RPG - she had no problems, died less than 5 times on normal, and it was before Awakening, which made the new player experience much more casual-friendly.

So, current PoE tutorial is enough to play it as an ordinary RPG. And if we talk about the meta and "git gud"... well, it can't be placed in just one single tutorial.

Nope, no tutorials. Make newbies suffer, make sure 99% of them never return. The less new players the better it is for the rest of us.

I love to see them rage quit and delete. Let them know we are hardcore latrine nerds. We have enough latrine nerds buying supporter packs to fund development of this game.

GGG does not need anymore money. POE must continue deeper into the latrine. Forget about things nonsense like tutorials, or an actual real match making system or a banner to click on to find a party member.

Lets do it the latrine way lets beg someone to open a portal and have them say use my portal 95% of the time only to enter the portal and never find them because the portal is 30 minutes old. where everybody could have simply click on a party member banner and TP directly to them saving us all a lot of time.

So no modern day multi player, lets continue with the last century broken multi player because if it don't smell like a latrine then it can't possibly be POE right?

And players like you are why we can't have nice things.
Did you even read the discussion you mindless ape?

Nah, I am a true POE latrine nerd I am just like your kind. I run and cry and kick and scream RMAH whenever a suggestion is made to implement a Diablo 3 element in this game even though 50% of D3 is superior to this game.

But instead of using my brain, utilizing my education, I do like your kind I cry RMAH regardless of the suggestion made I learned from your kind after all. If someone suggests that Chris buy a Toyota instead of a Mercedes, I cry RMAH.

Implement a tutorial that actually assists new players like every other sane developer on earth? waaaa waaaaa mommy mommy RMAH RMAH waaaa waaaaa.

Remove the useless cruel repetitive difficulty to facilitate quicker progression to end game since its ludicrous to be doing the same garbage 3 times per char on 5 acts? Waaa Waaaa Mommy Mommy RMAH RMAH WAAA WAAA!!!!

Include a party banner to click on and remove the useless portal scrolls from the game so we won't have to beg for the opening of a portal only to realize you appeared in an area and the party member is at the end? Waaa Waaa mommy mommy waaa waaa RMAH RMAH

I'm still chuckling.

As far as this thread goes I'm sorta anti-tutorial but yet I still always help new players and give them free shit. So, hm.

Trini, you're not committing to the troll, and letting your true colors show far too early. You ain't never caught no rabbit and you ain't no friend of mine - where by "caught a rabbit" I mean "successfully conducted a false flag thread operation."

Look at the new player feedback threads and the reason they're leaving - obviously the tutorial/tips are not quite enough for everyone, nor is everyone as sharp as your gf.

While we can't put every useful bit of knowledge into a tutorial (nor should we seek to) this is another point in favor of the chat channel described earlier: flexible enough to provide help when needed while not spoiling the admittedly rewarding aspect of discovery > knowledge > mastery.

OOh but I am quite the friend of yours, both you and I are from the same latrine where we cry RMAH day and night on these here forums. Its the way of the Exile after all, remember I learned from you.

Or are you forgetting when I made a very peaceful suggestion about implementing a tutorial for beginners how your nasty kind came attacking me and crying RMAH? awwww you forgot?

Or when I made the suggestion to remove cruel or normal as its boring and pointless. Your nasty kind came at me but only so long they could do it as soon as all the master supporter pack members started requesting removal of cruel suddenly the latrine trolls went quiet.

Or when I said implement the party banner "object" to click on to teleport so we can find friends faster and more conveniently. Which makes absolutely sense than a dumb stupid outdated portal scroll. Your latrine troll friends came in swiftly attacking me crying RMAH and D3.

or you suddenly forgot? my friend I can't beat your kind so I joined your kind. I now cry RMAH if Chris drinks cocoa instead of coffee. We are now friends don't worry.

I must've been doing it wrong when I tried to RMAH it in my D3 days. I power-farmed and flipped like a champion, but it seemed like pretty much nothing sold for real money, ever. Especially not gold, and it was obvious why: the whisperbots for illicit third-party sites undercut the RMAH minimum. Not counting the first month of irrational exuberance, I think I made about $5 off of RMAH sales. I guess I should have botted more. Or better yet, just realized I couldn't compete with Chinese gold farmers.

So yeah, I don't cry RMAH when Chris drinks cocoa instead of coffee; the RMAH was, at worst, a symbolic contributor to the economic woes. Instead, I just cry. It really does bother me.

The sad reality is the GAH in D3 is as perfect as you are going to get Trading. And Trading will always be dog shit in POE because GGG aren't allowed to copy the best trading system ever made in video games because of the circle jerk trolls. These same latrine trolls were the ones who were spamming reddit and other forums in the days of D3 RMAH.

For example how does the idea sound, search trypanon on the POE Auction House, sort chaos orbs by ascending.

Scroll through aah here we go a 4 socket trypanon for 7 chaos orbs starting bid.

Bid 10 Chaos Orbs OR buyout for 14 chaos orbs. ?????

Or we could go to trade chat, view a billion WTS spam. or perhaps POE trade and search for trypanon then message the person hoping they will be in game only to find out most of the time they are not online and you have to WAIT on their timezone and wait for them to come online and HOPE the item isn't already sold. Just like the retarded idea of using portal scrolls in this day and age.

Lets see hmmm which idea sounds better?

ow sorry sorry my bad buddy I didn't realize I was on a forum of latrine trolls let me calibrate for the POE audience, WAAAA WAAAAA MOMMY MOMMY RMAH RMAH WAAAA MOMMY MOMMY D3 RMAH

TriniGamer, what are you on dude?

The players didn't tell GGG to not install an auction house, it was THEM who from the very beginning said they'd never have one. period.

Now, kindly run along and quit stinking up the thread. plz? :)
Go home, Jay Wilson. You are drunk.

I do, of course, cry "GAH" when Chris drinks cocoa instead of coffee. Because nothing better conveys my disgust with how a trade has been carried out. Support your local java distributers, New Zealand.
