[2.4 VIDEO] #1 Pathfinder PHC - Blade Vortex flask build. Uber atziri video. Easy lvling
Slayer has nice utility for Blade Vortex
+ 20% flat increased AoE + 20% increased AoE on kill + 20% dmg multi on kill 20s Onslaught on Rare kill (free pot slot for regular mapping) + 16% attack speed for faster whirling (more if you won't skip the starting passives and Art of the Gladiator I did not play last league any build with on kill effect with duration spells, so not sure if the inc. AoE on kill will bump up already running stacks, or if it will snapshot original spell parameters. Also, there might be an option to go with 2H like Pledge of Hands with 7L Blade Vortex, since Slayer has increased dmg by 42/54% - no mention of attack, so it will work on spells most likely, unless GGG changes the text. But this would a be bit of a strech For HC, i think Pathfinder is still the king since flasks will be most likely still broken so you can have 100% uptime without much effort so you can have all defenses in flasks only. I represent only myself, my own thought and believes. I am individual, not a representative of the community.
I am not speaking on behalf of someone else and I don't get offended by things that have nothing to do with me. 3.13 was the golden age. |

trying this build out and have a question - can the build still be done without the flasks?

" I don't see anything in slayer tree that would encourage a BV build. At least not in the planned 2.3. Even currently, slayer starts off in a terrible part of the tree for a BV build (in fact, the exact opposite spot that you'd like to). Reflect is deadly, yes, but only if you don't see it. Rumi's + basalt + phys to lightning in the links + reckless defense jewel = will keep you safe so long as you remember to keep flasks up, or if you're in HC, just skip over reflect maps. Not because you can't do them (far from), but because they're the only thing that will really kill you aside from something nuts like twinned core. Oh, as for poison, you can stack it up as many times as you hit. Conc effect + poison + vulnerability curse = if you don't blow it up in a few seconds, the poison certainly will. To put it in perspective, I basically blink and blow up the Death and Taxes bosses with my conc effected 6L running.[/quote] Well Slayer gets several buffs potential 40% Increased Radius (Basically a free AoE Gem)/20%More Dmg/20%Culling/Onlsuaght buff. The problem lies if it trumps 100% uptime of flasks. Not to sure anything is better than that, and on top of the 100% flask up time, you get a stacked poison on hit, especially since you said there is no limit, I can just imagine the extra dmg that outputs. " Exactly! That is a valid point with the on kill, if you have to recast it or if it is automatic. But even so in maps, you speed through them anyways so it should have a 80%+ up time. I noticed that too, with the increased dmg with 2h, I think that will get fixed, unless that was what they were going for. I think slayer has the potential to have a much faster clear speed in maps, but Pathfinder will still be king of boss killing. Because slayer won't get the benefit of on kill buff for some of the harder bosses. One thing I did not like about the slayer is the 20% cull, because volatile is deadly at higher tier maps in HC, and not noticing it until the last second then it dies = death. In general, 100% flask uptime and poison on hit is just hard to beat for this build imo. |

Hi, I plan to play this in prophecy but I have a couple of questions if you don't mind answering.
1) Why warlords mark? You already get leech from vinktars and a lot of physical reduction from basalt + taste of hate? What about assassin's mark or enfeeble/temp chains? 2) From what I saw you don't really use the 4L blade vortex to curse/get power charges during map and only for boss, would it be reasonable not to take max power charge from alira and take skill point instead? 3) How important do you reckon carcass is? I never wanna try to 6 link item again after last league and would rather buy a 6 link base to try and chaos it. Is increased AOE of carcass too good to pass up, though and I should just try to get 5 link and go with it instead of rare 6 link chest? 4) From what I understand from previous comments you recommend going master surgeon + master herbalist+ veteran bowyer, right? Thanks! |

" 1. Warlords is insane more life and mana leech which is great for MoM. Also it's the endurance charge generation of the build and once your crit is high enough very reliable power charges with PCoC. 2. He was probably just on cruise control I make a mental note to use it every ~8 seconds just once is enough. 3. I've used Carcass Jack and it's strong but not required, I used a 5link rare in the 2week and it was plenty good enough, your mobility and ability to stack more charges for higher health mobs negates the need for it. 4. Perfect ascendancy setup, it's what I'd choose if I rerolled this build (RIP ossocati :((( Last edited by NoEars#7385 on Jun 1, 2016, 5:12:18 AM

Any plans for 2.3 patch? I really like this build and I wanted to start prophecy with it.
It should still be viable for 2.3, right ? the other LL variants of the same concept are very expensive for the beginning of a league. |

Hi there, prophecy is coming and still not decided for any build might go for a pathfinder BV this is one of many option.
I have few question tho. I would really enjoy go CI or maybe LL later on league with something similar, do you have any suggestion? Let's talk just about a CI version, would you still go on essence worm / MoM or it's no longer the best choice and just reserve some mana for discipline and "????" would be better? What 2 last ascendancy point would you take, Master surgeon with changes is still the must go imo but I was wondering if now it's not better to drop master herbalist to go for Nature's boon and later master alchemist, both got buffed, I do really like the idea to be statut alignement IMMUNE all the time and this 20% chance to freeze shock ignite are really a thing, more over using a phys spell as BV, what are your though about changes and last two points? We might look for some chaos resist on stuff since it might be the thing we will really miss from herbalist. I was thinking also about the raider, have you think about the possibility of switching ascendancy to go raider since it get overbuffed with some upgrade and the 2 more points? Anyway, thanks for the guide, will be usefull, I'll share you my though and changes if I go for it :). Have a nice day. |

" CI and LL are obscenely expensive. Very much worth the cost, but nevertheless, crazy expensive. |

Hey just wanted to give you guys my take on my favorite build. I started playing it as a hybrid HP/ES character(based on this thread: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1611821) and played the character to great success before switching over to low life. Biggest hurdle to this is the Skyforths which are pretty much necessary at this point. I also use a more elemental damage approach. With Physical to Lightning and a Conversion Vintark Flask you can convert 80% of BV's phys dmg to lightning dmg.
Stats(fully buffed)http://imgur.com/a/QH6PC The first offensive picture is with Elemental Focus, 2nd is with Lightning Penetration. I prefer to run with lightning penetration, since we get up to 48% lightning pen with no tree investment other than the pathfinder nodes. I've found the lightning pen makes killing bosses much easier since they'll max at 28% lightning resist. 6L: Blade Vortex + Spell Echo + Controlled Destruction + Physical to Lightning + Increased AOE + Lightning Penetration/Elemental Focus 4L: Herald of Thunder + Curse on Hit + Enfeeble + Poachers Mark/Temporal Chains 4L: Hearld of Ash + Discipline + Enlighten + Summon Lightning Golem 4L: Vaal Haste + Vaal Haste + Vaal Discipline/Clarity + Increased Duration 3L: Blood Magic + Enlighten + Hatred 3L : Whirling Blades + Fortify + Faster Attacks Gear:
Spoiler
If anyone has any questions feel free to ask, hope you guys enjoy my take on the build |
