SET FREE THE ASCENDANCY POINTS (or rework the lab) [New ascension methods/lab rework ideas]

New league definately looks promising. Mechanincs, rewards, boss system, enchanced uniques all look delicious. The new labyrinth will surely make a huge difference in enchants and is a very good upgrade for those who like the arcade playstyle.

Im sad that the rest of us still wont mess around with Ascendancies (lol +2 points for a total of 8). I guess another 3 months of brainstorming new ideas how to ascend is coming. The challenge rewards look extremely good and it would be a shame that some of the challenges will almost certainly have something to do with the labyrinth.

I don't mind more of the lab. I also don't mind Ascendancy points being tied to it (just disliked goetz' style of "arguing" with the previous post). I just hope the ES/hybrid-life discrepancy will be somehow solved when it comes to trap survivability.
The new league does look quite promising.

In the short time frame available, this was probably the best GGG could do to keep other things track, while still being responsive to the amount of dislike and hate directed at Labyrinth.
Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?

I agree. GGG is smart and know that in order to maximize their player base they will need to address the labyrinth problem. Too many dislike the labyrinth, like the poll says, https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1639251, 26% of the poll population gave labyrinth the worst rating possible and 59% dislike the labyrinth. Also, important anecdotal evidence is the threads put up here with people saying they are quitting and creating fewer characters because of the labyrinth. So GGG will have to do something, especially considering the fact that there are many solutions that can make both labyrinth likers and dislikers happy. They have just decided on a solution that will take more effort implement.

It's just like what they did for PvP. "Oh, we made crap and people aren't eating it, well let's just double down on the development time instead of actually making the game better (only to finally abandon it and say it's the players fault due to lack of interest)".

GGG doesn't get to blame players for the response to Labyrinth because it's intended to be for everybody who plays the game.

This is terrible news, i kept checking the forums for when it was going to be changed or removed. Looks like GGG is sticking with it :(

I uninstalled like 4 weeks ago but still had some hope for poe, oh well, diablo 3 treating me pretty good for now
In the announcement, Chris said that more information is coming on 2.03. For the good of PoE, I hope that they at least announce a change coming in the next release after 2.03.

Edit: My understanding is that the 2 additional ascendancy points are available in a tier 15 map. That would put it out of range for most characters anyway, since most characters never play a tier 15 map.
