SET FREE THE ASCENDANCY POINTS (or rework the lab) [New ascension methods/lab rework ideas]

Sadly, the answer is no.

If you haven't done the trials for the lab in question you will be unable to start the lab on your own even if you have gotten the Ascendancy points from that specific lab i.e. completing cruel lab in a party will not give you the ability to open cruel lab if you've not done the trials for cruel lab.

Completing the trials is mandatory if you are the person who will be opening the portal to the labyrinth. You can't solo the labyrinth if you haven't done the trials for the corresponding lab.

Honestly, I don't like this change, smells of lab carries getting more popular than ever. No idea whatever possessed them, unless this is just a temporary thing during beta because they haven't implemented the flags yet.

I'd be ok with something like reducing the spawn weight of completed endgame trials, that's something that encourages you to try finding them yourself. But this? Nope, definitely not ok with it.

That topic is irrelevant to the trial "issue" here though, it's only about inside of the normal/cruel lab and how it compares to its current version, outside trials are unrelated.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

My thought was that raics' opinion would be more likely read by a GGG developer in that thread than this thread. But that is a raics option not a Turtledove or Fruz option.

And it could be even more read in a separate dedicated topic in the beta forum, which would be more constructive than adding off-topic content to a subject where GGG is taking some of their time gathering feedback concerning something else.

I have not tried the beta so I won't, but if it's still there when 3.0.0 hits, I could definitely add a thread in the feedback forum for that.

634 pages of ideas, the labyrinth is still a tiresome chore that doesn't connect in any way to the (mandatory) reward it gives and the only GGG posts are saying "please stop yelling".

Meanwhile the game still crashes all the time.

I got excited when I saw there were changes coming in 3.0 but the most onerous part of the process is left untouched.

Shaboom also thank you for getting this thread back on topic. GGG is continuing to improve the tiresome labyrinth with each release. The 3.0 release is apparently shortening the first two labs significantly. As long as GGG continues to improve the tiresome chore it will hopefully become less and less tiresome and maybe even a little fun?

Well, they asked for a very specific kind of feedback there, haven't actually played the beta so I'd better not.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

From their news announcements it woulld seem they have some more changes in store. Old content won't be in the focus for 3.0, naturally.

I think if we keep muttering it will happen sooner or later.

Fucking checkpoints man! Don't waste my time rerunning because some stupid disconnect or whatever. Thats the worst, when you feel the game is wasting your time. Because when you have fun, it doesnt feel like a waste

It's so true. It's like whoever designed this monstrosity decided that they would do absolutely everything they could to D__R__A__G____O_U_T____T_H_E____P__A__I__N
just to piss us off. "How can we emphasize that their pain is our number one goal? I know, let's make them start over from the very beginning whenever anything bad happens!" Cue evil cackle.

If that's not clear to you then I submit as further evidence the burning floors trial for the endgame labyrinth. It goes on and on. They designed it so that one has to spend a huge amount of your time just waiting for the floors to cool, run flip a stupid lever, wait for the same stupid floor to cool, run back, and it goes on and on and on and on and on like that. Still not convinced that they are trying to just piss us off on purpose? What's the name? "Trial of Burning Rage" I rest my case.

Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury. This is Chewbacca...

I do agree with you though. That particular trial and part of the Labyrinth even makes me scratch my head. The most annoying part of the Lab is flipping switches and waiting for burning floors. With backtracking as a close second.

I guess it was put in with the leaderboards in mind, to slow them down or increase risk/reward. After all, it killed Kungen on D3.
