" I don't doubt that Uber will still require an Offering. I mean, there's still 6 trials for Uber too, so the chance for them appearing in maps probably won't be changed. It would be easiest to just let it stay the way it is now, unless they want to do something else with them as suggested. I don't know how exactly the new "lobby" for the Lab will work, but they could add a device there in which you can put Offerings to add certain or random mods to your Lab runs. A bit like how maps work with chaos orbs at your hideout. And then you can continue to run trials in your maps in order to spice up your loot from Uber Izaro. More risk getting all keys with random mods, but more reward as well. I quite like it, if not for that you would potentially mess up your Lab run by rolling mods like BM on a CI build, or a type or reflect. That's the name of the game though. Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.

Maybe GGG will in the future DELETE LABS and Trials and only map that drop are SHAPPED STRANDS so people can be all HAPPY, I hope ...(sarcasm)
Lab and Ascendancy are married together, sorry folks! You Must Do Labs or No Ascendancy for you. The Lab is mainly about Ascendancy, not to get enchants or some currency, but GGG see a opportunity to add something with end game farming potential and add the enchants and boxes. I can understand that a large portion of player base dont like do labs because they are almost the opposite of the Shapped Strands. Some of these say that Lab have nothing to do with ARPG but arpgs ever created are not that many, so people cant sure say something like that. No one created something like Lab and the reason is not because they think that will be a bad design, simple i could bet they never think in nothing similar and GGG do it first. So if your opinion is that lab suck well we sorry for you, but majority or not, Lab must stay in the game and Ascendancy should stay gated by it... Or NOT read below. Do not need to be done before the FoO but my Ideas to improve Lab/Ascendancy Is the following: I don`t know what the level of the zones of trials will be but i think if GGG do it right they could set trials in some manner that they match the points that you likely have "to do" Labs in current way, so they can set what i have in mind, that is: -6 trials (you fight Izaro at end of of each off them and you are rewarded with a ascendancy point if successful) so this way u dont have to do Labs for Ascendancy, off course trials should be a little longer(like uber trials but not that lengthy) and have a adicional room for Izaro fight with traps based on the trial in question but not any form off buffs in Izaro. You are allowed to create potals to town like regular boss .You just get Ascendecy points, no chests our enchants. -After the 6 trials are complet you can enter "Merciless" Lab equivalent were you can have everything you get in the current merciless lab except that you already have the Ascendecy Points so you just do it to get OFFERINGS, (you go understand below) some form of loot from chests and\or enchants. To be a little more rewarding run this Lab you could get twice the keys/get double enchants you normaly do or get a optional ASCENDANCY reset. Since exist stash in Lab IS CLEAR POSSIBLE ADD a form of waypoint before each Izaro phase but GGG should make them in some way that they will be deactivated after Lab is completed (this should help people that dont like Lab because of disconects) -Uber trials should be removed from maps, instead when you have a offering when you re enter "Merc" Lab you get a Hall of Grand Masters look a like at entrance with a path for every one of the trials . After complete every one of them the Lab add a choice so you can increase the level of the Lab one by one "sacrificing" a offering to do so ,from say 69 to 80(75 and above are considered Uber Lab where you can get Uber Ascendancy Points once complete) to be in pair in levels with Chayula and Uber Atziri, to speed up this process you get a offering like now when complete each uber trials, so no more RNG trials(this is good special for SSF players and beginning league racers) Have in mind that you CAN choose the level of LAB and acess the trials to get more offerings freely a this point. So now you could be a Lab Farmer and/or a Offering Farmer. The map chest from the lab should be removed and replaced for something more in theme like a chest that give essence like orb enchants(random nº) so you still have "normal" enchants but you could get essence like orbs that transform a normal item in a rare with that enchant as suffix(not implicit) but other affixs are random like in a essence use. For people that dont really like lab an trials GGG should add a form that you do lab in reverse so you beginning in the "ascendancy room" and right after you have to fight a full buffed Izaro more traps room from 100 to zero and win the figh to get the Points. they DONT get enchants or chests this way. Further more, GGG should make more Izaro styles of fight not just melee and be more diverse like spellcaster Izaro and stuff so him could do other kinds of damage(besides golem buffed Izaro) so your choose of the Ascendancy no interfere in this fight EVERY TIME( i am looking at you life / EVA characters for expl) because is hard to evade with traps and stuff, and if u can not evade by your self u probally will get hit some time in the figh and them RIP. You should not be obligated to get a lab carry just because you are a POOR LIFE base melee EVASION character EVERY TIME Period. PS:GGG should nerf poison darts slow or make plates that activate them a little more prominent speciallly when they are together with other traps just because I die to these combinations particulary LOL. Offerings to the Goddess can be used to alter the labyrinth experience
You can add one of these to apply a certain effect at the start. Max 3 uses wherever the effect can stack. The following effects can be chosen (examples can add more or tweak those): - Reduce Izaro's health by 15% (lab tiers 1 through 3 only, disqualifies for Race) - Increase Quantity by 20% per offering (can stack) - Increase Quality by 10% per offering (can stack) - Apply one random effect of a Darkshrine - Apply a random Leaguestone effect that a Darkshrine cannot already apply (maybe random pick of 4 changed every week?) - Can leave labyrinth without losing progress and returns this Offering on completion. (disqualifies for race) - Remove one main area (disqualifies for Race, can stack). Using even one for this effect results in no gear enchant at the end, no treasure keys, and a cumulative -30 quantity and rarity on Izaro kill. Using 3 of them will result in Izaro only fights. Offerings will drop rarely (at least as rare as Chaos) from Act 4 and on, more commonly in 10, and most commonly in maps though the increase would not be too significant. Ironically, I think that the Labyrinth and the Strand Map are both subpar for at least one similar reason: They are both disgustingly linear experiences. The difference is, the Labyrinth experience's linearity is due in part to reddit, and it would not be linear if they simply randomized it (and its rewards). " That's because "too easy" and "too hard" are both misleading, and GGG's behavior toward the lab so far indicates that they have been seduced by both parties: That's why they keep delivering band-aids instead of fixes. I can create a compelling argument that the Labyrinth is simultaneously too easy AND too difficult. The key problem with the Labyrinth for most people, whether they can express it eloquently or not, is that it is not fun for them. If content which you deem required is not fun for you, then you might want it made as easy as possible so you can blitz through it. But that won't solve the underlying problem. If content which you deem required feels tedious to you, then you might conclude that making it more challenging would remove that sense of tedium. But that too is unlikely to help you. The Labyrinth's problems are structural and/or systemic, so it is impossible to fix the "unfun for many" problem by simply making it harder or easier. Wash your hands, Exile! A better example would be buying the ingredients for a steak dinner and cooking it yourself VS just going to the steakhouse. Izaro Only fight is going to Applebee's. You get what you wanted, a steak dinner. Base Lab is just buying your own steak and cooking it, adding the Offerings to enhance the Lab is you making it exactly how you want it. It's called choice. |

The Labs is the fundamental reason why Path of Exile exists on Xbox One without PC owners knowing anything about it.
When that sinks in, it will fall into place. PC players in a general capacity, aren't dropping [any more] money on Path of Exile in an expectant forecast chart that GGG developers have currently been observing. " It's more like cooking your own rotten meat or buying a spoiled steak at the restaurant and being told until it's completely consumed you can't eat any other food. Then in defense of it pointing out that everyone eats the steak and is still alive, is doing well. The mandatory lab sucks (for many of us) and makes this game not fun.
