SET FREE THE ASCENDANCY POINTS (or rework the lab) [New ascension methods/lab rework ideas]
I agree with that, we all knew 2.5 wouldn't change anything.
And we all know GGG says 3.0 is gonna change a lot. Which means even if they don't change the Lab itself, it can become less of an issue. The point is we don't know how much are they gonna change or not in 3.0. But until then, we can only keep in mind how much we hate the lab now. And if 3.0 results in a massive disappointment, then well, the game was fun while it was fun at least, and all the lab lovers can rejoice you won't have to deal at least with me anymore. Have fun. |

I'm happy to hear that I'm not alone in hating the lab. I've just recently switched to HC as an added challenge because I like caring about defenses and whether I live or die during the core game, but I absolutely hate the arcade game-play that we find inside the lab in the form of traps.
What I like about arpgs or rpgs in general is that you can be rewarded for game knowledge, and for grinding easier zones if you feel that it is too risky to progress (either because you're underleveled or undergeared). The lab runs contrary to this essential aspect of rpgs. It doesn't matter whether you are level 100 and geared to the teeth, if you make a dumb mistake or accidentally sit on a trap too long because you couldn't see the exit on time, you're toast. I would actually be sort of fine with this IF it was completely optional content, which it isn't. End game is tuned to Ascendancies, and Ascending is a defining aspect of every current build. The lab is no longer "optional content" (and in my opinion it never was). It's nerve wrecking to know that you can lose everything you've done so far on a piece of content that you would never run but you need to because it is the only way of progressing through the skill tree. If you hate the lab too, please be vocal about it. Let the lab exist but make it OPTIONAL as it should be, by setting ascendancies FREE. |

" I'm actually very ready to accept this, if it turns out to be true. If GGG deems the lab a core part of the game then you are right, the game is no longer for me. It saddens me but I'm definitely ready to move on. |
|
" OK, so now that you are ready, ACCEPT IT. Go back, view the podcasts/posts/etc where the lead developers have said they like the lab, they like that players HATE the lab, and they are KEEPING the lab. It's not going anywhere. Get over it or get over the game. |

" My recommendation to people who dislike the trials/lab/connection to ascendancies so much that it makes them want to quit, is to STOP supporting the direction PoE is headed. Blindly buying supporter packs tells GGG that you're happy with the way they're spending the money you give them. Stop paying for content development that you find terrible. It makes no sense to continue doing it. And on the flip side, for people who love the labyrinth/ascendancies connection thing, give DOUBLE what you would have otherwise to make up for those of us who've stopped giving. :D |
|
" Thing is, I love the game, and with the upcoming changes in patch 3.0 I'm hopeful that something will be done about this terrible mini-game inclusion to the core content. Because I still love the game, I'm willing to wait a bit longer and see how things pan out. If it turns out you were right, then yeah, I'll probably call it quits. Make no mistake: people are vocal about this issue because they like the game, not because they are indifferent to it. When a game that I don't care about goes in a direction that I dislike, I don't complain or offer suggestions on forums, I just quit. |

" Thank you for voicing your feedback to GGG on the labyrinth. I've added you to the list. You're number 673 on the list. This is the list of people that have voiced an opinion that the labyrinth needs to be improved or made optional. As the list grows longer our voices grow stronger. Over 280 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 670 posters in support edit: " Well said, there is a small contingent of people on this forum that like to be mean to others, discourage feedback, and get people to quit PoE. To me it seems to be self destructive behavior but there's really nothing that can be done about it? Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired! " I don't want to discourage feedback, but feedback is mainly something you give and then leave with it, instead of whatever the hell you are doing, which is borderline obsessive. You also fail to realize that your actions or inactions won't lead to change, GGG will review the feedback listed here, via emails and various forms of communication and circle jerking every poster that has negative feedback on the lab isn't going to do anything in the end, GGG will make their choice without your intervention. " Did you spam click the door, don't spam click the door. Other then that, the lab is similar to the rest of the game, you can lose a run, its not really that big of a deal for a lost run here or there. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285
FeelsBadMan Remove MF from POE, make juiced map the new MF. |

" It's a bummer for sure that something as poorly designed as the lab with its myriad of issues, including these ones that have never been addressed cause people to quit playing PoE. Big fixes had better be coming. |

" What's 4c and 10mins on a character you're playing for hundreds of hours accumulating hundreds of chaos? Perception is reality.
