SET FREE THE ASCENDANCY POINTS (or rework the lab) [New ascension methods/lab rework ideas]
Honestly at this point I'd be happy with an alternate way to get ascendancy. Lab can stay as it is, just introduce another option to get ascendancy. Maybe in 3.0 they'll do this.
On the plus side, with the removal of cruel in the future that's one less time to do lab :P |

Imo, it's balanced enough. Like I actually like the reward for the difficulty. Ascendancy points, enchant, +all the other drops(possibly treasures too). Also, source on removal of cruel, and why? |

" No question that the reward is very good in labyrinth. The theory there is that GGG had to do that because the labyrinth is so boring and not fun. The issue with the labyrinth is that many people find the trap game play to be horribly boring. If I wanted to play traps then I'd play a different game like Frogger, prince of Persia or something not PoE. Those other games do a better job with trap game play anyway. PoE went from my favorite game of all time to not playing it hardly at all anymore because of the horrible boring trap game play. " By saying this you assume that they made the Labyrinth boring on purpose because all those rewards were there right from the start. Even the Uberlab ones were already there you just couldn't get there due to a lack of an Uber Lab. And even if the lab would be riding a pink unicorn on a rainbow background... you would only do so for less than 1% of your total playtime unless you come back for more. I usually take about 10 Minutes for the first two labs, because I tend to overlevel them (and a lot of builds need 4 points to feel the difference anyway, so I do Normal and Cruel at the Start of merciless) and if I do it right away another 15 for merc. I'm only doing Uberlab with a char meant to farm it or if I can benefit from the last 2 points, which again is not always the case. And it takes me about 20 Minutes with a character not too well suited. I propably take at max another hour for all 6 Trials in maps. So overall I spend a bit above two hours per character in the lab. This league I only had one character doing all 8 points, one had 6 and one had 4, but I hardly played them. And the one character I played a lot spent a lot more hours outside the lab than inside a whole lot. Also A1N is pretty boring too. And it takes longer than the lab, propably longer than 3 labs. " this sooooo much. Playing a game for hundreds if not thousands of hours, and hanging your gripe cap on something that should IN TOTAL take you less than two hours to complete per character (if you want all 8 points and are REALLY slow) and never do again is RIDICULOUS. |

We'll just pile on the rewards so that people are less likely to complain." " Start up a different thread to complain about A1N, please. This thread is about labyrinth and how it was a horrible design decision to gate critical character development behind a totally different game play experience.
