This thread is about alternatives, more options for those who literally cant stand the arcade playstyle, wont run it as currently is or straight up hate the whole thing and the way its implemented. For all the rest who actually like it or got used doing it and they dont mind it now, things remain EXACTLY the same. Some suggestions even inventivize people to run it (orb farming for example or divination card farming) so in general not only the additional options have no negative whatsoever but they will have positive effect for the lab and the game in general (less toxicity and divisive content).


Thank you both for the reasoned ideas and opinions. My assumption is that GGG has decided to implement one of the more difficult to implement solutions. Remember that GGG has stated that ascendancy points and labyrinth were two separate ideas that were "married" in the labyrinth. I suspect that they have decided to divorce these two separate concepts and move the ascendancy points behind new content that will be added in a future release. Of course, this new content would involve normal arpg gameplay (i.e., kill monters get loot). This would mean "cleaning up" labyrinth content to remove references to ascendancy. I don't think that this option even fits into any of the options described in the OP?

so far the player retention (According to steam charts - i know it is not 100% population but this is the only data there is) is BETTER than in previous patches measured with % decrease from the release date. and it has been done DESPITE being launched roughly the same time WoW expansion hit (also hugely successful)

so keep believing, assuming and in general wasting your time on fairytales

It is much more than an assumption that you're a nasty mean and insulting person, at least in the labyrinth threads. I've read your posts in other threads and while rarely kind they are almost always accurate and helpful. It is disappointing that you can't show the same respect for others in the labyrinth threads. My suggestion is that it would improve your reputation to refrain from posting in labyrinth threads or to try harder to make posts of substance.

Are you aware that some maps have trap patterns that you absolutely cannot avoid and have to go through ? What does that tell you about traps now ?

Honestly, GGG know about this thread, bumping it or not at this point I think will not change anything, especialy given the content of (at least) most posts.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

I don't consider traps in the maps to be a big deal. I definitely do not understand how that proves that ascendancy points will remain locked behind trap game play? Maps are built from existing content. So it only proves that traps is existing content. Traps in maps can be easily ignored by not running the map.

I don't think so.

Trap patterns that you cannot see the end of, that gate the boss.
And not, maybe you have not tried the Atlas at all, but skipping a map => loosing on overal bonus, loosing on the chance to get the next map.

There will be more and more traps in the future, deal with it.
Not less, more.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

I have played the Pier map and probably won't ever play it again because it is boring irritating and not fun to go through the trap game play part of that map. I also played a map a few times (I forget the map name.) that has traps in the final boss fight. To me that was similar to the final Izaro battle which I have no trouble with. As long as the focus is on kill monsters and get loot then I consider it fun ARPG game play. I consider Izaro to be one of the best battles in the game. If there are other maps in the category that you describe, then I doubt that I've played them but would appreciate you letting me know which maps those might be. (I played PoE for the first time today in a couple of weeks but would appreciate a warning if/when I run into those maps.)
