Still, I think the biggest nerf here is that internal cooldown.
Before 2.4 build was able to provide from 7.8 (legacy Mjolner, single Discharge) to up 9.4 (non-legacy Mjolner, double Discharge) Discharges / s and all with 11 charges active on average. If internal cooldown is in effect with Mjolner and its the same as CoC gem (500ms) that means current 2.4 version will be able do dish out 2 Discharges / s at max, all with an average of 3 + 3 + 30% * 6 = 8 charges on average. So instead of blowing up with 9.4 * 11 = 103 charges / s it will now blow up with 2 * 8 = 16 charges / s at its best. Thats like 85% LESS DPS. However if cooldown isnt there (or its less than half a secound) the build might be able to blow up up to 9.4 * 8 = 75 charges / s and this will be ~27% LESS DPS (comming from Unrelenting nerf). However this is without factoring in that 35% less Discharge dmg when triggered. The only possible way of overcomming that huge total nerf that I can think off is to use double wield Mjolner. And socket gems like this: 1 Mjolner: Discharge - Controlled Destruction - Fire Pen 2 Mjolner: Discharge - Controlled Destruction - Fire Pen So with that in mind - theres a hope. But I need to test that option. It will still proc less than non-legacy double Discharge setup but might be somewhat usable (should feel like single Discharge non-legacy setup from 2.3). Of course that needs reworking on passive skills and gear (no shield) but I think it can be done. So, can someone confirm that cooldown on Mjolner? (I'm currently @ work and will be back @ home in the evening). Mjolner internal CD seems to be unaffected as it seems ... hmmm ... only CoC
I may be wrong though so I will test as soon as the 2.4 nonsense goes live too Planetside 2 I guess till ... 2017? after that I guess |

I also think that mjolner already had some internal cooldown. There are a lot of things that GGG doesn't say (like that discharge max target thing).
I really don't understand why they don't announce these things. "These items and skills also have cooldowns which limit how often a skill is cast." Ok, so what are those cooldowns ? " I do have LL Zerker in 2.3 (and I had it in 2.2 before). It has its own problems, like physical mitigation (Academy Boss is very hard with it, so all the new bosses like Minotaur Guardian will also be very hard) and offer no real advantages (dmg output was on pair). The only fun stuff with it was killing packs with 20 lvl LS + triggered 20/20 Arc with spam @ 6 aps. And now even that experience is going to be nerfed. tackle70, the guy who took over Rainbownuke build from its original designer tom94, was running LL Zerker in 2.3 aswell and after seeing 2.4 changes he allready posted a comment and basiacally RIPed the LL Rainbownuke build thread. " Yes I know that :) This why I said that passive three and gear will require reworking. There wont be a need for high aps anymore, so those points might go into aura and life nodes to compensate for max resistances loss. There's a light in the tunnel but cannot tell how bright it is untill I test things ingame. All right enough said. I guess I would have been more accepting of such drastic changes if they were limited to new league, but the mechanics changes still hit standard, Boo.

... I don't have currency for Volls yet, so I decided to make mathils mjolner inquisitor, already had really bad single target dmg, now with even less procs it might not be viable anymore
