The Labyrinth is everything I dislike about games in one package.
" If this is really the game poe is supposed to be, I don't think I (or many others) will be playing it in the future. Which is understandable, given that the game they meant to make is completely different from the one we've been playing for 5 years. Last edited by pabrt#4594 on Mar 5, 2016, 3:07:44 AM

" Please give it a try, challenge yourself. There was time back in 1986 I had victor 286 pc 256 colors, big floppy disk. sILMARILS GAMES and other roguelike was all we had. Things like that were very fun and challenging. I remember not speaking english and playing game, using dictionary, I remember having 0 clue what game or controle was and need to randomly try each key on keyboard. You should try hard game, please do because you miss a lot what video games could be. I know people now need 30 min fun after work but believe me game you invest brain and patience are the most you remember. I don't mind the traps, but it's far too long with no save points of any kind. After dying on the second izaro I just shut Poe off, I'm just going to lower level through it at the end. It's too bad the izaro fight is really fun but have to redo an hour of tedious maze running isn't very good.
I like the concept but you need to either cut the length or put in checkpoints |

" Lol. so basically before Ascendancy you hated PoE? And no, it's not optional. |

" hi, this I agree with you maybe it is little too long with risk of pc crash. Dev should work on this for sure. Poe Pvp experience

" I doubt it. The Labyrinth seems pretty balanced to me. And y'know, I started ignoring corrupted zones and masters before long. Strange but true. They seemed like an annoying distraction. The Labyrinth, on the other hand, is this great hulking challenge, this call to action that I have a lot of trouble ignoring. I normally don't like trap/maze games all that much. They get on my nerves. Ha, ha. But I feel the implementation here is quite in-tune with what Wraeclast represents: a mixture of monsters to hinder your path/provide loot, and deadly threats at every turn. To me, the Labyrinth is everything PoE should have been from the start. I know, you're probably horrified. But it's true. The fact that it even has a D1 homage in the form of a fucking overpowered-as-hell monster behind a closed door in a simple square room indicates to me that GGG are powerfully aware of how much the Labyrinth returns PoE to its Diablo roots. I won't be powerfarming it, but I'll be spend ages down there just pretending it's the totality of the game, not that fucking AoE-projectile fest waiting for me in Act 4. For me, those ten or so areas, with their traps, their switches, their keys and locked doors, their darkshrines and their treasure chests, are going to BE Path of Exile. I can play that shit all day. I'll probably just run it every day as different characters. Happily. Joyfully. I find the rest of PoE *incomplete* after playing the Labyrinth. For a very long time, I've felt neglected by GGG. They promised so many things in the Closed Beta. And I supported, excessively, because I was so buying what they were selling. And it's not as if they haven't delivered an amazing game. What they didn't deliver was a game that required actual engagement with the environment regardless of your build or gear. They didn't deliver maze-like dungeons with big fucking chests at the end, or locked doors that required keys. Instead they focused on the economy, on power builds, on players who do nothing but trade, gear up, and demolish high end content. They gave those people Atziri, Uber Atziri, Zana...they gave those people Act 4, the merciless version of which is considered 'alternative' end-game to Mapping. But the Labyrinth is for me, and anyone who wanted a PoE that could kill them if they got sloppy no matter what. But would in turn, reward things like being thorough in exploration, curious about crumbling walls or cautious about closed doors. And I'd ask that you forgive me for really, really being thankful that GGG put something in that represents more than just killing and looting mobs. ...Now with that all out of the way, you can perhaps understand why Ascendancies don't even mean that much to me! Between the treasure chests and the enchantments, I don't even need Ascendancies as an incentive to run the Labyrinth over and again. But thematically they're a wonderful tie-in. I love how GGG built it all up, with the mailed out letters, the slow reveal of each Ascendancy. The appearance of the statue weeks before its purpose became apparent. The rigorous lore -- Perandus is a name anyone who plays PoE should recognise, from the start. It's awesome to see that GGG have always had a plan, and to see the scope of that plan unfold with each update, each expansion. So...I guess what I'm saying is, GGG have sort of spoiled the power gamers and min/maxers so far. And given players like me...so very little. Over the years they've had to increase the difficulty of the game by 'my' standards but failed to make it much harder for the people who are apt to use everything at their disposal. I find it ironic that something I find if not easier, then at least more engaging, is making it 'much harder' for people so far untouchable by all of GGG's attempts to make the game challenging. ...So maybe, just maybe, I'm gloating a bit, that finally GGG have implemented something that isn't a gear check or a grindfest. That'll change, though -- once people figure out the traps, and Izaro's forms, it'll be another grindfest soon enough. That I promise. But for now, I'm deeply enjoying the X factor that it represents. ...The GF is giving me dirty looks. Time to go cook dinner. I'll leave it there. ;) https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

" It was a love/hate relationship, definitely. Ever since Closed Beta's last days, GGG have added things that rubbed me the wrong way. All the way back to spell totems, in fact. You've been here long enough to remember that. If you feel it's not optional, that's your prerogative. Zero chance we can agree on that one. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

" Charan, please... deadly 'traps with precise timing'? or rather 'run through them and pot on the way out'. these traps are all but precise (poe engine does not support any kind of precision in the first place) and while they are deadly they are more irritating than captivating design it took me 3 lab runs to realize that the only dangerous stuff is the poison dart stuff, all the rest you just run by and pot on your way out (CI / life/ES hybrids wont even need to pot) |

Sounds like ADHD issue to me, the place is rather relaxing and not complex at all.

" When Is last time POE made you realize something interesting? Most time since 1.xx you run and get hit but don t realize anything coz you can 1 shot everything before you get hurt. Then one day you are 1 shot and still don t understand why. Lab made you think and anticipate new traps. Lab made you discover things are ok other are bad. Traps are 1 shot maybe but you know why they are. Long time POE not made us anticipate anything. Since We used totems in corners to attract monsters the game did not gave us interesting and scary stories. Maybe POE engine suck for traps but like mario bros we all enjoyed unfair but do-able challenges. Long time POE did not give such things.
