The name is really unexpected,and the skill tree.... I will try to build my first Scion character!!!!

I'll echo what's sorta been said here:

Gaining access to up to 2 other quasi-sub-classes, has some interesting mixtures that could come up. Do I think it'll result in OP Scions? No more than a specialized character. From what I've seen most of the points available to the scion (which takes 3 ascendancy points) are decent but don't really alter the rules of the game in the same fashion that the main ascendancy classes do.

It seems that the Mosh-Posh points from the scions stolen ascendancies seem to focus more on damage rather than altering rules. There's a couple exceptions in there. Also worth noting that there is a restriction that you can't take 2 from the same class. I.e. you can't have an elemental occultist.

Also as noted, it takes 5 ascendancy points to be able to start from another characters starting point. At that point you get 1 cross-class ascendancy, the ability to start at that characters start point, and have 1 point left to essentially waste on a stat. 1 of 2 things will need to happen here:

1) Stock up on refunds so you can reassign those travel points between scion and starting point B
2) Point allocation into the starting point B tree will start at ~66-68 (given it takes 5 ASC. Points to be able to even do so.)

I don't see the second happening very frequently :P

Overall thoughts:

Definitely an interesting Quasi-Ascendancy Melting-pot. Diversity at it's best, and i can see a lot of different build attempts coming from this. That said, I think a fully specialize character into one of the Main Ascendant characters will be stronger in it's specific path than a Scion Mixing and matching, as it should be.

In my mind, this definitely solidifies the Scion as the undisputed Jack of all Trades.

Why should I playe something different than Scion? You have better Start, can start from any point in skill tree after ascending and can choose from different clases (and mix up something extreme)...

Cmilles is the only guy to have actually thought this out before posting how OP this will be. Path of Scions... yeah right people lol.

Scion starting point sucks from a statistic standpoint. Its positioning was the main benefit. Now if it let you choose TWO starting points and unspec the scion area.... then this would be path of scions.

A video isn't that helpful to disseminate information that must be read, compared, theory crafted.

A single image showing the descriptions of all of the ascendant notables at once would be far more useful.

The post above yours explains why.

The specialist nodes on scion are much weaker than the bonuses offered from the pure counterparts, and jumping to another starting point is quite late in the process (you can't do it till a3 merciless at the earliest).

There will certainly be some builds for which this is the best class to take, but others definitely won't be; scion's ascendancy class doesn't break the rules like others do in many cases (well, it does in its own way I guess).
