ZiggyD Reveals the Scion Ascendancy Class: The Ascendant

Oh fuking shit @#&!%@#!$#^!$& this is... Damn!

Doesn't actually look that overpowered to me. The stats are significantly nerfed from what you can get with the actual ascended classes. For instance, the Gladiator can get 100% of block chance applied to spells, while the Scion version only gives 30%. That's a pretty huge difference and most appear to be like that.

Why should I playe something different than Scion? You have better Start, can start from any point in skill tree after ascending and can choose from different clases (and mix up something extreme)...

Q: Why play something other than Scion?
A: You prioritize access to powerful major ascendancy nodes over variety in picking from less powerful nodes or the ability to treejump.

Or to put it another way; It wouldn't surprise me if many, perhaps most, of the current Scion builds will be retired in favour of building them using some other class, since they are specialized and there'll in most cases by another class that is much better for them using a subclass that strongly supports the build.

Instead we'll get Scion builds that manage to combine their weaker ascendancies in innovative ways or indulge in treehopping.

Compare Scion ascendancies with those of the parent classes and see if you can spot the difference in power levels. Remember, you get two (and not from the same class) while the parent gets three in its chosen subclass.... unless you want to treejump, in which case you only get one set of additional bonuses.

Then look at whatever builds you use currently and ask yourself whether Scion really is the best class for that purpose when considering the alternatives. It might be, but then again, it might not.

Love so far what I have seen with ascendancy and I hope it plays out in the game favorably. I like that you are getting the community involved and letting fellow members announce some things. I have 0 jealousy or envious feelings towards them for getting to do so.

I hope the passive tree on site is updated soon. I also hope that someday you guys spend time on it and make it automatically calculate certain things such as hp%, resists, max mana, and the like. I also hope someday it will be plug and play where you can put in your gem set ups, gear, and it will do the math for you. Thanks for the work done so far.
