Get enough damage to ohko Shaper, beyond that is pointless. Facebreaker is not needed to reach that point.

It all depends - if i'm playing this build on standard - no doubt that you're right given how many sources to boost your damage or/and utility in general exists on perma std : +1 shavs , mirrored godly amulets with legacy multi ,insane spell dmg+ crit shields ,daggers, broken legacy vinktars etc etc.

But if i'm playing this build on temp league, none of those can be considered realistically - then facebreakers is really one of the best items to get to squeeze maximum dps from 1 item slot ,even more considering their price , imo.

So it looks like my current four priorities are:

1) Getting C and L resists maxed again,
2) Getting a Shav's which then means I swap out CI to PA and can run 3 blood magic auras
3) Getting all my gems to level 21 and working in a level 4 Enlighten
4) Somehow getting to 9k ES even though I lose a lot when I put on the Shav's

A big damage upgrade is Blade Vortex 21/20 gem for which you don't have to change any of your gear.

Please swap out the really bad Added Chaos Damage gem and replace it with Increased Critical Strikes. The base crit of your Blade Vortex will go through the roof which results in A LOT more flask charges (which are basically your bread and butter as Pathfinder) plus a lot more damage because of all that Crit Multiplier on the tree/gear.

Damage should be ok with 6L, correct gems and flasks. Obviously Shav's to go LL would be a huge damage upgrade, but it is expensive and you really should fix the rest of your gear first because it looks pretty trashy in my opinion (Helmet and Shield could have MUCH more ES).

You want as much ES as possible, damage comes from Jewels (where you optimally also want ES%), the 6L as well as Amulett/Rings/Belt. The rest should be prioritized for defense (if you can get damage on the shield too, nice ... but make defense a priority there), meaning as much ES as possible.
There is no fancy defense mechanics here, your flasks (get a good belt, rest comes from tree and crit chance) and stacking as much Energy Shield as possible.

Yes, if somebody does not care ... ok. Shadow and Dust are very nice mapping gloves, because they create fun maintaining rampage stacks. For bosses like Uber Atziri, Shaper, ... every single point of damage is a bonus - and I agree, with temporary league equipment you don't reach damage levels where you "click out" those bosses ... nope, you don't.

Even in standard, People get almost perfect gear, mirrored stuff etc. ... and then forfeit a huge damage bonus on gloves "just because"? Doesn't really make sense to me ... the damage you loose because not rolling with Facebreaker is like throwing away 200 ex of gear (it's like saying ... "i don't need that legacy crit multi mirrored amulet, I'd rather go with my new trash tier amu)

Shadow and Dust are fun for mapping, for bosses they make absolutely no sense.

Not to be rude, but I believe the reason no one is answering is due to the fact these are questions you personally should be answering for your own specific build. Not someone else. That's what makes it your personal build, instead of being instructed/advised the best solution every step of the way and having any risk/reward stripped out of the equation.

Asking for advice is fine, but looking through your post history it seems you've been using this as a crutch.

No offense taken, it's a video game forum. Most of the decisions so far I made myself (ie, 42E for Skyforth before just getting Shav's + Taste of Hate + better ES). The Skyforth only increased my dps from about 10.4k to 12.2k. At this point, I'm trying to just save currency again until Standard at which point I can get a perfect legacy Taste for about 10E. I also lose a ton of survivability getting the Shav's, though, as I would lose ES and also the chaos invulnerability. I would also lose the best ES nodes behind CI. I do agree the gems need to be upgraded as well. It seems my priorities need to be:

1) Swapping out the Chaos gem to Increased Critical
2) Getting a 21/20 BV gem
3) Getting the Taste of Hate
4) Upgrading my Shield and Helm
5) Getting Shav's

I am currently lvl 66 Occulist (EHC) with 2 curses(Blasphemy+Temporal chains+Enfeeble) but due to budget deficit I am rolling a HP build. My question is what to go for Tree wise and stats wise as I am starting mapping?

why not spell echo? no dmg loss, just lose some crit multi.
im at 19.7k w spell echo vs only 15k without. don't know why you would skip it tbh5

changed things up a bit.

actually went DW wands, did uber lab with the setup tonight, DPS is unreal. pretty much 1 shot izaro in all 3 stages, guy just melted.

ill throw up a vid sometime soon. mapping i really like the DW wand setup more than the whisp blade/etc setup too. it just seems "smoother" to me.

also no skyforths (obv), so i'm witch occult - can't use haste aura without skyforths though i notice. so that aura is shelved atm and i use vaal haste in its place (and vaal disc in vaal hastes original place)

seems like it rounds the build out a little better, tbh, as they are very powerful vaal spells.

using lightning warp for movement which is better for hallway maps, but worse for open maps.

88k~ dps vs bosses is unreal for BV though. i suggest you guys try it out. can outleech anything i've gone up against so far.

but yeah, right off the bat i see you're rocking a shield. I just don't see the point because i'm at 8k ES w/o one, however my DMG is huge so as long as i'm attacking, i'm leeching and i'll avoid those one shots.

i also dropped Haste, i run Hatred, Vaal Haste, enlighten in one wand, and Vaal Disc in my boot spot. With Vaal Disc my ES goes to 14.4k, eliminating a chance of getting one shot while my 88k BV dps outleeches / instakills any boss.

edit- actually just now upgraded my helmet randomly from a map self found, woo. small upgrade, but it took my es from 7.9k to 8.3k
