The reason why you have that much ES already is because you are a) Occultist (100 extra is very fine) and b) your rings, amulet and belt have a lot of flat ES on it already. (Edit: Also boots instead of Skyforth are +100 es extra)

Still, I have 9,6k ES with my BV char (Pathfinder) and Shaper can still one-shot me even when I put on Blasphemy Enfeeble with 20/20 gems! (that slam when he teleports)

Other than that ... your wands have a lot of cast speed, have you tried replacing (because your Shav's is only a 5L yet) Spell Echo with a damage gem, can you keep up 20 stacks at bosses? (or do you get mana problems)

also no skyforths (obv), so i'm witch occult - can't use haste aura without skyforths though i notice. so that aura is shelved atm and i use vaal haste in its place (and vaal disc in vaal hastes original place)

seems like it rounds the build out a little better, tbh, as they are very powerful vaal spells.

using lightning warp for movement which is better for hallway maps, but worse for open maps.

88k~ dps vs bosses is unreal for BV though. i suggest you guys try it out. can outleech anything i've gone up against so far.

ES can never be too high (there is no cap to its usefulness for avoiding ohko, I too play Occultist because I want more ES; and because ranger gonna get nerf hammered) but damage we can reach what is a useful maximum long before needing to drop shield from our gear. Shield is one of the best item slots in the entire game! and remember shield can have a ton of damage on it anyways as well - 76% spell damage and 100%+ spell crit if you choose to take both. (I don't use spell crit on shield personally)


As somebody pointed out a page ago it can be a bit different if you play temp league and cannot get a good weapon, but your weapon doesn't need to be anywhere near for what I said to apply - it is huge overkill. A decent weapon can get you to that point, especially if you wear silly Facebreaker gloves instead of

as so many temp league players seem to do.

personally, i prefer the glass cannon playstyle. as long as i use my flasks appropriately and engage at 20 stacks, there isn't much in this game that's going to kill me.

just made a video of a t12 vault run for fun, i play a little slower than most of you, but you'll get the idea.

things go boom boom, BV dps hits 101k (and im only at 6 power charges) and imo, facebreakers > mals all day, it's really not even a close comparison.

i prefer spell echo to get me to 20 stacks faster, again, that's probably just a preference thing. the fact is i can kill any boss up to t15 before vaal disc wears off, so nothing up to this point is an issue for me.(almost 15k ES w vaal disc while DWing) when i do 6 link, i'll either run duration or empower.

i'm going to mess with the tree a little bit at 93, i think i can find ways to squeeze a little more ES/dmg from my time playing with it and respecing my witch 3 times this season. getting quite familiar with the tree.

also thinking about respecing my 6L to be 5 blue 1 green and ditching red all together. i can get more overall DPS from that setup than what i'm getting from duration/empower. may do it tomorrow.

121k DPS w flasks up, really really crazy. almost 100k w increased AOE + flasks. it's just insane.

Facebreakers are good n00b gear because they help you get the damage up when your gear sucks (as all temp league characters will always be), but later on there is no reason to wear them.

you don't do more damage than me. especially when you take our gear into account. it's not even close, lol.

no idea why you come off as so aggressive just because someone else found a way to go boom boom on a budget. (most expensive piece was my shavs, linked it myself tho)

Hey Blasting! I am Kajisor from stream. Would you mind helping me out with my single target DPS? I was thinking about using Shavs but I don't know exactly what to do with my character. I know Skyforths would be solution to everything but unfortunately I cannot afford them. Thanks in advance :)

he's not coming off as aggressive, he's trying to inform you on how to build BV in an efficient manner. Your dps is inflated heavily by Cast speed from both of your wands. Not only that, there is no such thing as "too high ES", even at 10k ES, there are things that can still one shot me here and there.
But you're right, not many things are able to kill BV if you are leeching but it really sucks when you get 1 shot because your ES wasn't high enough and you lose 10% exp especially at the higher levels. Don't expect to survive shaper slam attack or even -res volatile flame/ice/storm blood in T15 maps because 8.3k es is not enough to withstand those hits.

- Better dagger (very easy to find a rare dagger on a budget that outdoes your divinarius)

- Taste of hate

- Rings and ammy with %ES

- shavs into lowlife

Do that in this order and you'll be fine.
