[ Suggestion ] Path of Exile - Frontier

Got two suggestions:

1. Consider using Github to store your assets. It's absolutely free for open source projects. In your case, it's creative commons right? I insist bec most other ways are full of ads. Serious projects like yours belong to github and not 4shared.

2. This song: Iron Maiden - The Final Frontier.

Great work! Awesome graphics. I hope GGG would take your suggestions at name the expansion Frontier.

I really like the idea behind the runetablets.

A lot of things (obviously) needs some balancing and I'm not too convinced about the new orbs/skills/uniques, but the cartographer glyphs are awesome + the artwork you guys designed is amazing.

Well done!

I hope to see something similar ingame one day :)
Please don't PM me ingame with filter/guide questions, post them on the forum, after reading the FAQ.
+1 for this
@op

Can carto-glyphs be utilized at low levels?

This would be an excellent way to implement "alternative" leveling in PoE. It would behave like a currency sink of low lvl maps and it would enable a side-leveling-pattern once you finished your first character and gotten it into maps.

Something a lot of people are waiting for i feel.(given the age of the game and it's dedicated group of players, a lot of people are getting rather tired of re-running the same content over and over and over)

Overall i think some of the idea's need to be tweaked and balanced to better fit the game-state.

The orbs come to mind, affix/suffix system of glyphs etc

But i reckon you are aware of this and just wanted the "concept" out there.

Peace,

I like the idea of creating more end game content like big maps with some hardcore(hard/rip) content there, and to have smth interesting happening in those zones, like uber boss, interesting quests, events. Actually its weak spot of poe now, existing quests (masters) are dumb and technically realized on super primitive level.
Also i like some new mentioned mechanics like "spectres ressurecting after 40 seconds after death".
The topic start is of insane quality. An entire new league and more are discribed. Well done.
Not everything I agree with, but the work is unreal.

We'd get to play (and make) stuff like this if GGG sold a moddable offline client.
This game's revenue stream comes exclusively from folks who want either additional stash tabs or fancy hats. And a hugely disproportionate amount of that revenue comes from folks who have lots of fancy hats.

So no, never going to happen.

I don't disagree but you stated that like its a fact, do you have any sources?

The 80/20 rule applies to this, and every business; 80% of revenue comes from your top 20% of customers.

This is really cool!

You should contact Support about moving it to Community showcase for other people to see. I'm sure they'd be happy to do so.

I can't provide feedback on the mechanics or ideas, but I'm curious to know what it means for an area to contain jump scares.
i dont like the concept, infact, if ggg decided to add actual jumpscares to the game, it might just be the end of my PoE careér... plz dont, its the only thing im trying to evoid in games, and i dont think PoE is that kind of game

I'm not saying I want to add jump scares to the game.

Nothing I've posted here is meant to comment on the specific suggestions.

What would a jump scare in Path of Exile look like though?

Oh,I know,I can think of one of the top of my head - suddenly getting swarmed by Devourers or Porcupine Goliaths!

BTW,I play Arc so you know the horror is gonna be real! :3

Is this GGG policy?

One one hand, I can understand: perhaps you don't want to discourage people from speaking their minds, or perhaps leadership thinks it might just get unmanageable.

But on the other hand, I feel like it's sort of like tying your hands behind your back. If (some) ideas were to get addressed directly, it would (at the very least) steer the community in the right direction.

My 2c

@OP, just wanted to add my voice to the crowd in saying great job presenting your ideas. =)

Getting surrounded by illusory devourers (like, Untainted Paradise levels of surround) would be a good one. Making illusory enemies show up at the bottom edge of the player view, just long enough to show up over your exp bar/skills, then disappear.

Suddenly getting the "low life" visual effect (red tinge around the screen, reduced light radius). Or, related, having the screen just go completely dark for a few frames.

Having an illusory Mirror of Kalandra drop, and when you go to pick it up, it turns into a Bearer explosion (double whammy).

Opening a random chest shows an explosion and causes the client to report that you are at 1 life and 0 energy shield (though in reality you're still at whatever you were beforehand), then the client quickly recovers that "damage".

Hearing Tolman screams in your map at the same time as any other jump scare, or randomly, but always loudly.
