Also the Saboteur Shadow class looks intersting for this build

As ranger the Pathfinder class looks probably like the best for the miner.

Ranger Evasion/life with a bunch of the Flask nodes (i think, this one or the 98 points armor variation could be close to the best) Look at the last of the skilltrees, added 1 option that trys to go without vaal clarity.

and adjusted it for a Shadow. I still think with the Ascendancy classes the Shadow is now a lot superior (ok, Ranger-Herbalist gets some nice flask stuff)

Does cast speed have an effect on laying mines? If not, then Trickery and the 3x cast speed nodes could be put away.

Also, you could remove one cast speed node and get an additional jewel socket left from Vaal Pact.

As for the Ascendancy classes, I think Saboteur is the best and then going for:

Bomb Specialist -> Demoltion Specialist -> Explosives Expert (or for a bit a safer play Blinding Assault)

Cast speed is useless, don't trust the tooltip. It doesn't show the mine laying speed.

They got nerfed though, so if you are doing your own build, and aren't near to them, it is not worth traveling to them.
