So, that's the decision made according to number of people playing temp leagues, i think. While we can say that they made it shorter, instead of their willingness to make it longer, they probably made it for some reason, not to piss off those liking leagues longer. While i like the idea of shorter leagues, i like it primarily for one reason - it's very hard to trade, when the amount of people playing is very low, and if this amount is okay - i'm okay with longer leagues as well.
I mean, i really do realise what u dislike about this decision - but that's probably done prior to some serious reasons.

We'd mention if it was voided.

These leagues will not be voided. Characters will be moved to their parent league (Standard and Hardcore) at the end of the leagues.

Might wanna think about the idea that was brought forward in the Chris Wilson Q&A on ZiggyD´s channel
during beta. Since there is no extra reward for playing hardcore, the hardcore league could rip into the softcore league instead of permanent softcore. It would encourage more people to (start) play hardcore at cost of the softcore league inflating much faster.

Just an idea, I am interested to hear opinions on this.

I get all of your points, but it's only 1 issue I'm pissed off about and that is being lead to think we went back to longer leagues, thus making decisions around that information... Only for them to make a 180 before 3 months is even over, screwing up everything I've decided over the past two weeks.. One of my friends played like crazy to enjoy the last 1.5 months with a HeadHunter belt on his new build, he gets one, then a day later they decide to stop the league 6-7 weeks early. It's very poor, amateurish handling of a situation.
