Looks like not too much in the way of nerfs for this build in 2.1; Surgeon's affix getting nerfed is a nerf to all CoC builds, but legacy Surgeon's flasks will still exist.
I recreated the tree in 2.1 and we went from 205% critical chance to 165% because of 2 crit nodes bordering Assassination being removed. However we can allocate one fewer node now to get to Nullification, which got a buff (gives +5% life instead of +10% energy shield recharge). We also save 2 nodes because of better pathing in the new tree. (Well, 2 nodes saved assuming we're not taking Quickness/Fangs of the Viper now.) This leaves 5 extra skill points in the new 2.1 tree. Where are they best spent? I guess grabbing the jewel socket by Whispers of Doom is decent, but I haven't looked thoroughly at all of the new node changes. Also, the new Will of Blades notable by Coordination in the shadow area gives 20% crit chance, but idk if that's worthwhile for the 2 point investment considering we take a useless +8% phys to path there and the +20% phys from the notable is lost on us. there are no ascension classes in the next long league starting Friday. You are confusing the patches.

My bad, i guess if you're looking to make up for the crit chance in the next patch, i think if you go down from ghost reaver, and get the rest of the dagger crit nodes on the way to adders touch would probably be best. Then you'd just grab the power charge from that side.

" I didnt mean you get all 5 nodes, you just get the amount of crit you need to get crit capped, depending on peoples gear. If you have good crit rolls on both your rings you probably won't get them. .... or are you saying don't bother about the loss of crit and not getting crit capped at 6 charges, and just spend it on other damage nodes instead. Seems like this build got a little bit of a nerf with the loss of some crit in the shadow area and, perhaps more importantly, the nerfing of the increased area of effect nodes. The basic build should work though, I imagine.
Looking at the new tree I'm wondering what you might recommend for a starter build. I think it seems likely that incinerate is getting a heavy nerf, but flame totem seems OK with searing bond. Having played FT extensively and spent time in darkshrine with your incin totem build, I'm confident that FT will be quite a bit worse than the old incin totem build was. One alternate possibility might be to go for a traditional MF summoner build -- most of the minion nodes are quite close to the CoC build's pathing.
