Don't feel like playing anymore.

I'm not asking for people to care. I want GGG to know that 2.0 has made a player who has played for about two and a half years not want to play their game anymore. I like the game. It's simply become too frustrating to play and enjoy.

I can't bring myself to try/fail until I learn to beat the bosses at the end of act IV normal. That's right. I've not gotten out of normal difficulty yet.

If your goal was to keep players like me from participating in your game, then you've succeeded. I play strictly solo/self-found/HC. I wont break that for any reason.

The barriers you've put up at the end of act IV normal are prohibitively punishing. Sure... you can get by them. You can pay someone to kill them for you. You can use gear found by someone who already beat it. You can work together as a team and overcome the challenge.

But a player like me is left without any motivation to play.

I've played four characters up to the Piety fight in Act IV and simply don't want to play anymore.

Please note that I'm not asking for a change. It's fine if you want your game this way. I'll likely play another character up to this point and quit again... just not right now.

I don't understand, what's your problem with piety ? Equip 2 quicksilver flasks and the beam is a non issue. You just have to dps, run in circle when she's about to beam, kill adds in between.. ? I feel like Piety in A3 is harder than Piety in A4 tbh.
This is a serious question btw, I seriously don't see what's your issue.

I can't believe that people are unable to beat act 4 normal as solo self found , even cruel .

I'm sorry but I think that you're just flat out lying .
R.I.P 4.B.
Fire trap or any other proxy-dealt damage will take care of her while you run away from the beam. we all have to run away from that beam - cruel piety can kill lvl85 char if not paying enough attention

if you wont change your rules (fair enough) do some youtubing research. most of the act4 bosses are mechanical and predictable. attempting them blindly.. well.. you know how it ends
It takes me too long to get to the fight to learn from it. So I die. You've learned how to do it. Good for you. I'm sure you could teach me to.

Fuck that. I want to play the game myself, and it's not happening with how they've designed their game. It kills me over and over, and yes... I could go online and have someone teach me to beat it. I could "ask for help". Nope. Not my style. If I can't beat a game, I shake the hand of the designer and tell him he beat me. He made a game I couldn't play.

PoE was never that game until 2.0. I always got the feeling I would eventually learn to beat any challenge the game offered, and did. Vaal oversoul was hard... but it took me about 3 hours to get a character up to where I could fight him and learned the fight. Now he's easy. Same with Dominous. I learned the fight in normal after a few goes. Piety simply kills you before you can learn anything and takes too long to get a character up to for me to feel like risking them on her.

So I'm stuck. GGG should know that. They won... but in doing so lost a player.

I'm pretty sure it's faster to get to Piety A4 in 2.0 than it was to get to dominus A3 pre 2.0, with the zones revamping / skills buffed ect...
There's nothing to learn in piety A4 except for the beam. I really don't see your point. I'd understand it if it was Malachai, but Piety A4 is way way easier than Dominus was when he was introduced in the game for example.
I checked your 3 tempest chars.

All of them have almost no life on the passive tree and a lot of equipments with no life at all, or really bad life rolls.

I agree that the game has some flaws on the awakening, but the problems you found are completely your fault.

Main problem is the total imbalance between the different acts... My relative rating is given based on you being able to complete the previous actc boss...

A1N - Easy
A2N - Easy
A3N - Easy, then slightly difficult
A4N - Easy, then.... die, Die, DIE!!!
A1C - Easy
A2C - Easy
A3C - Easy, then slightly difficult
A4C - Easy, then.... die, Die, DIE!!!
A1M - Easy
A2M - Easy
A3M - Easy, then slightly difficult
A4M - <don't know as the 8 boss fights at the end of A4 are too boring for me to do>

Game balance in A4 is completely out of whack compared to the rest of the game... and I mean utterly, completely FUBAR'd!
Yep that's true, balance is way off but still, act 4 in normal while way harder than the 3 first acts is still very easy post nerfs to malachai.
Acts 1 and 2 are definitely huge faceroll even in cruel and merc. I understand the need for some overlapping and to give players a break in the first maps of a new difficulty mode but it's too much right now.

Pretty much this. Dominus was regarded as a spike damage thingy, well, Act4 Piety & Malachai double-tripled the spike.

As I see it, the progression is utterly imbalanced, when whole acts 1, 2, 3 in the next difficulty are much easier than the end of the previous difficulty. After you defeat Malachai, it's a complete shoozefest until Dominus slighty wakes you from your nap and then it's time to get raepd in the Belly again.

Not to mention Malachai fight has huge problems with performance. I have to disable everything, to have ~30 FPS in the final stages of the fight.
