I still think map drops are fine - boost drops and good players can do 79++ all day long

To all the trolls that defend the current system to death, there ya go.

And what do you know! Once this "boost" is complete, "good players" can finally run 79+++ maps all day long!!

Qarl clearly states that the forums acknowledge a tendency but that the ultimate decision is based on the statistics backing up that tendency.

If the internal data diverged from the conclusions presented on the forum boards, what do you think the
out-come would have been?

Don't pretend you wield the power to diverge GGG from their course, that's a foolish notion.

Yeah sure, brah. Thanks for your effort.
Well, it has been a fun and interesting ride. I hope the changes don't go too far - I like the scarcity created, but hope it can be moderated more by difficulty rather than a surfeit of RNG :)

To everyone who provided hard numbers and constructive feedback, thanks. While we can't pretend that every post in this thread (and others like it) were exactly useful, it is nice to see such a large cross section of the community being able to (for the most part) rationally discuss a challenging issue.

Thanks as well to Crackles for making a thread that generated such discussion. While I didn't agree with all your points, dude, you provided a good opportunity for some valuable community interactions.

Best of luck in the future!

In this case forum feedback reflected the statistics precisely, ie. brickwall at 74 maps. It's sweet to see that the empty argument "but, but, forum feedback doesn't represent the playerbase because reasons", is null and void...

Will be back for the second part of this thread, aka: After Boost Party.

It feels damn good to be able to say "I told you so", doesn't it? I won't though, because that would be rude =)

Indeed. Wait and see. But it will prolly be crappy. I felt 1.3 map drops were terrible because my opinion is players should NEVER run content beneath them. Its just bad design making ppl do content too easy and I believe why leagues are dead after a month or two. 2.0 offered opportunity to almost never get bored due to high level 82 maps and maybe they could have gone further even still. But when drop rates suck behind RNG gating there is no point. Its will still be RNG gated. Maybe they bump stall area to 77s now instead of 74s doesnt change the flawed design.

if you think rng gating is cool next time you finish merciless, go through cruel again. why dont you? Thats PoEs end game map system in a nut shell.

Just reading this stuff makes me cringe. I am hoping and going to pretend its morbo applying some sarcasm to the thread.

Don't get too excited if you think you are gonna be swimming in maps. Although, i am quite excited if i get some more xp on average, ftw.

They will probably make it so that he who before was failing rolling maps, sitting at 72-75 will be sitting at 74-76 after patch, those who were mostly sitting 75-77 may be sitting 76-78 after.

But past that i am afraid that you will just need to improve your mapping skill. Because of their system with the highest maps not intended to be maintained, they cannot boost higher drop rates very much without all good players running 79+ all the time. That is my guess as to what will happen.

As you can see also from that post, i was completely right in what i said in this post. I even understated it because i knew the community would snap if i didn't, but now i don't need to understate it anymore because they have revealed the truth of it. That same truth all the criers and QQ'ers have conveniently skipped past(you can sustain around 79+ already).

I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all.
