On average, i found enough hammers/maps for 4 chisels by running 2 lowlevel maps, but the Whetstones... i'd say that even if you buy them with your Scraps, it is still 4-5 maps to get enough.

If unique monsters such as exiles and beyond bosses could drop +1 maps (not even +2) and the chance for map boss to drop a map would be scaled with total map IIQ, this would already help and put more sense in running 120%+ maps...

Actually it would be cool if you could sustain 79 more easily but it would be even harder to get the 80+ maps, since these feel like the real deal and they are actually hard, 79s beside Village Ruin are a joke (well Necropolis is quite dangerous) compared to the hard 74s. So the difficulty from 74 to 79 does not change that much. I'm only up to 78, but I already had a lvl71 Village Ruin from Zana... ended badly.

One positive aspect do the low droprates have. I had a Plateau map rare unidentified and it actually dropped one Volcano and two Crematorium maps, which was quite an experience. I didn't expect that much return and I actually invested nothing into it, since it dropped like this. But than again there are sadly a lot of maps that are exactly the opposite, high investment and no return and that is the actually depressing part about mapping for me at least. Thats why I don't invest much into rolling my maps that way I only lose an Alc and eventually a few fusings.

What I also do now when I get 3 maps of a type I hate (Malformation -.-), I alc all 3 and trade them for one unidentified map of a higher level.

I actually used to do whetstone recipe before boxes were in the game. I kid you not, scrap recipe, too.
Always all 6 portals out of a map with every unique and rare, plus every quality item of any quality.

The stones were obviously for chisel recipe and scraps for alch recipe and also buying stones.

I was super pissed around this time as I was trying to 6 link the 2H sword I was using. I'd save up a load of fuses/jews then go at it, rolling over 5Ls, hoping for a 6L but ready to stop at a 5L as I drew close to running out. Stones were always a problem, not because I didn't have enough to quality the sword to give a better chance of linking, I'd never dream of doing that, but that every time I tried a 6Ling attempt session, I had to pay a 20 stone tax to get the quality back on afterwards :(

It's a lot better now, with boxes, I still won't find enough stones but I no longer do 40% quality recipe, I do still have to sell scraps, though, but it sustains.

Unless I level a character, that produces far more hammers than stones and scraps can handle.

I would have thought "boosting droprates" was the dominant term nowadays to build assocation. In any case, i don't care i have the slayer language that reaps all the read-to-misunderstands and bring them into my vortex of slaugther.

While there is a difference in what was previously portrayed and what is now, I still disagree that map drops are fine.

Yea, that title is still a semantic mess. First you say map drops are fine (present), but also require a boost in drops (condition / future) :)

Let's try:

Map drops could be better. Boost droprates and good players will be able to do 79++ all day.

No, it's fine as it is now. I can write most forms of english if i want, but this primitive and basic form is my favorite.
