I still think map drops are fine - boost drops and good players can do 79++ all day long

lol it's ironic how all keyboard warriors stating there is never a problem always have a private profile. Just something to consider
I think what is importend is that u have to accept u can not Gear up and sustain decent maps. I do 74+ at the moment thats possible without throwing to much stuff on them. Im pretty positiv that 76+ is still possible, like it was before, if i dont need my Chaos to trade.

+1 for this. It's so consistent I feel like it must have some causation behind it. If they're doing so well their profiles would be public and showcase their grand successes. Furthermore, I'v run maps over 130% quantity and had ZERO maps drop. I'm talking level 77 maps with suicide mods that you run, kill the boss, and find NOTHING for map drops - not even lower maps, no maps whatsoever. There's no "skill" involved in that, it's just straight stupid. Even from the perspective of someone not hurting for currency in any league I can tell you map drops are garbage. Lastly, the maps themselves are currently buggy as hell. There's a really solid chance of any well-rolled, high level map dropping you as a result of bugs introduced post-2.0. How cool is it that not only do these maps no longer drop consistently but they also crash before you can clear them?
What really turns me off from running maps is that RNG is inconsistent. It takes longer to run rolled map. When I run 100%+ map, drop nothing and then run 74 map with 25%+ from Zana daily and drop 70, 71, 71M, 72, 73, 74R, 74, Sac. Midnight... it feels like slap in face. I usually don't have more than few exalts. Throwing 1-5c on map is pretty big deal. What I get from that? GGG is putting exponential cost on end game. This will distinguish new, average and top players. Since 2.0 I rolled 4-5 new chars. It is more fun to spend like 5ex on new char rather than see diminishing returns on maps. Maps are boring to me now.

It's about learning all map mods, all map tilesets what's likely to spawn there, density and so on so that you can roll your maps accordingly.

It is also about how to get the most out of your currency so that you can afford to keep doing.

It's lots of things there and it takes some time, and even then probably most people don't use nearly all the tools and methods they have for increasing their map return.

I am not saying you are bad at it, but the return on optimizing is undeniable. Due to the level system of maps, not having a big chunk of potential drops will lead to the very highest maps being far harder to acquire, because the penalty to drops(how much your lack of map knowledge leads you to roll more worse maps) gets applied at every map level you try to climb.

This is hands down the dumbest thing I'v ever read. Your opinion is totally valid and also totally ignorant. I couldn't run out of maps or currency if I tried to - literally would not be possible - and I still think they're broken. I know which mods are best, I know which maps are best to run tough, and I can afford to throw any amount of currency investment into every map I run but the diminished, hell basically eliminated, returns are so bad that it's entirely not worthwhile. Furthermore, the "buffed" unique drops is completely wasted on the fact that level zero requirement uniques drop in 76+ areas.

Yeah thats ur problem. One guy with a privat profile, a dozend High Rolled maps without Map drops and its all Clear to u. Its randoom so there will be 100+ Maps that drop bad and 0 Maps that drop awsome but in the long run its worth spending. I play 74+ with basicly just alc and go, so it can't be so bad. I really dont think its harder than in the last patch.
That's such an entitlement to call yourself a skilled map roller. Anyone with a working brain and over 3 weeks of group mapping should know how to roll them right.

*spit* exile! This turned me down everytime I see a person making statements like "Monster's dps is fine, map drop rate still good" etc..

OffTopic - Guys, if you're concerned about the "Private Profiles" when stalking someone to justify disagreeing with them, feel free to look them up at Poe Statistics with their forum name.

Sure, most of them only play HC and have deleted all their high level characters, but it will give you the information you need before resorting to the king of all comebacks - "LoL, no 90+ characters, get gud before posting pls."

Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years.

Best of luck in the future!
It's a good decision to have profiles on private. It can generate a lot of comments - but always comments at the level of: trash.

People begin to look at any little thing they can, they go over your heroes and if they find one with some weird gem setup or whatever, suddenly that's a reason not to take the post seriously. Things like that, people looking at profiles are either looking to copy your style or searching for a bad argument.

Take what was written at its face value. Imagine, you actually have to deal with what is posted - a hard concept i am sure.

Map rolling separates the good from the bads. That's what it is, sorry if you can't accept that. I am not even wow-super good at rolling maps, i am just decent to good. But you of course assume i'm trying to say i am the best because you are so emotionally involved it is impossible for you to pay attention to what was actually written.
I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all.
