I still think map drops are fine - boost drops and good players can do 79++ all day long

Oh BTW I heard that the Eater of Souls is just another map boss. Nothing special about him.

But pssst... he is dangerous.

I'm bored playing 77 or 78 maps. Might as well play a different game now.

Yes, you'd have more HP and DPS so you could farm faster. Then you'd produce more loot to sell, so I'd have to reduce the price on my loot. Then you'd provide additional services, and if I wanted to compete with you I'd have to lower the price on those services myself. Etc, etc, etc.

15% you say? Is that the difference between lvl 78 and 72 or 77 and 76? I mean... just LOL at people like you.

As a lvl 89 Marauder (need ~10% for lvl 90), the difference between 75 and 72 lvl maps is actually pretty big, both in clear speed and danger. I can put my MF gear in 72 maps and I don't care about the map mods. In 75's however, I care and I can't roflstomp anywhere near as easy as 72's.

So please, spare us your opinions next time, it's even hard to read without laughing and facepalming at the same time.

I'm comparing 77 and 82. White 82 mobs do 16% more damage than white 77 mobs. Source.

Notice I said that the difference isn't noticeable if you have a good build. If you have a build that takes 5 hits to kill 68 monsters and 8 hits to kill 76 monsters, then obviously you'll notice the difference. If you clear at or almost at movespeed (i.e. 1-2 hits) then you won't notice. For example when I do Oba's Cursed Trove, which has multiple floors of successively higher levels (73-79) of about the same size, the time I spend per each level is within 10-15% of the 73 level.

Yeah map bosses are a different story. But map level isn't directly correlated to the difficult of boss encounters. There are challenging map bosses at 68 (Desert), 70 (Quarry, Museum, Merciless Malachai), 75 (Orchard), 76 (Malformation) and easy ones at 79 (Shipyard, Arsenal), 80 (Waterways, Wasteland), 81 (Maze). So you don't need higher maps to fight hard bosses.

Yeah right, uhmm... seeing that I basically don't trade, that is totally true, yes.

This game has turned from free to play to pay (ingame currency) to play. Pretty sad.

And yes, I know that with enough dedication I could clear 500 lvl 75 maps after rolling them well first, and eventually get to play a 82 map or two. It would just be incredibly boring. As someone else pointed out, the fun has disappeared. Again, pretty sad.

Well, this last page was fun.

Haven't laughed like that in a long time.

And I'd love to agree with RogueMage here...

...but sadly, this is exactly (according to the design philosophy of GGG) where it is perfectly at home, yup, in an aRPG :/
Casually casual.

TIL more monster health and damage =/= increased difficulty
The 352nd character to hit Level 100 in Standard
The 82nd character to hit Delve 1000 in Standard

You might also be interested to know that...

Monsters deal 60% extra damage as fire

...is totally no less challenging than...

Monsters deal 106% extra damage as fire, 112% extra damage as cold and 110% extra damage as Lightning.

Yes, having 4 extra passive points would transform my char into a super-killer-machine, that would endanger your business :))

btw, most loot to sell in this game can be easily farmed in Merc A3/A4 and fast, cheap low-to-mid maps. A char of lvl 70 can do that.

Do you really not understand the difference between describing populations and individuals? Even though it wouldn't benefit you personally, giving easier access to higher levels would benefit the population as a whole...

500 level 75 maps to reach a 82? Chis alc vaal every one of your highest level maps. Add 2-3 sacrifice fragments. Do this for 20-30 maps and then get back to me.

You have several L100 characters in standard and legacy gear. Yet you don't understand that 78s can roll just as dangerously as 82s?

If you don't want to play ARPGs with fun economies you can play Torchlight, Diablo, Skyrim, Borderlands, Fallout. You have a huge selection of great games of different flavors that ignore economy. What options do I have to play a great economy-based ARPG?
