For your main attack you will be using Flame Totem linked with Faster Casting, Fire Penetration, Faster Projectiles, Added Chaos Damage and Iron Will.

Exactly that order.

Tabula Rasa has always been a decent leveling item. But in fact you just don't need the sixth nor even the fifth link to melt you from level 4 to mid maps. I would prefer the transition from a +1 Sceptre to a 4L Infernal Mantle.

Would Apep's rage, Doryani's Catalyst, or The consuming dark provide the most dps to this build, without changing the tree at all?

6-link is a real deal. With 4-link I was at 14k dps, now with 6-link its over 24 k. And its only with fire golem and HoT, without totem placed(Shaman's Domination, almost always up) and Vaal haste. With those up too its over 32k.

Tried Atziri with 4-link - no luck, obviously needed more damage.

Currently(85 lvl) playing with 100% chaos damage/crit variation suggested before. Even with 4-link all maps up to 73-74 are a breeze. I switched from shield to dual-wielding daggers(got a lucky drop for a secondary one) as it grants a lot of dps and even with shield the actual difference in armor/life is not that noticalble. I play warbands/softcore so who cares if I accidently die - big crits FTW!

Gear is not fully optimized yet(too much fire res, prob better amulet and rings) and gems need to be lvled, so its probably another 1-2k damage. Crit damage gem with 20q is a big boost and not that expensive.

i love this all out fuck it build. i changed mine modifying nerds slightly to go all crit. i dont have the best gear, but i have 100% chaos like him, crit rings and shit, max res 3.6k life and just short on cold res only by 16%. 19.1K tooltop w/ a 5l & golem & HoT. Awesome! Extra 1k w/ the totem out. sweet!

Playing on Warbands, level 85 at the momment and decided to also go full chaos damage.
As a consequence, I respecced out of Celestial Punishment and Celestial Judgment and as so, depleted all the points of the original tree.

At the momment it looks like this:

Succes after 500 jewels sad but ok

Try to 6l it

Sell exalted orb for 550 alts ( misstake )

after 150 fuses only 5l

Sell 5l for 2ex

DAY Profit -500 jewells - 70 fuse -1ex -3chaos + 2 ex = -1,5ex

Hi - im going to do this build, though i do have some questions (i'm newbie in this game so some may appear to be silly xP):

1) At the beginning of the skill tree isn't it better to take spell damage instead of cast speed?

2) Isn't it better to get additional skill point instead of 40 life in Bandit quest on Normal?

3) What about using Three Dragons in this build?

4) What about using Soul Mantle with flame totem (so no benefits from 14lvl spell totem) + appropriate flasks to negate curses for additional totem?

Totally up to you.... I posted a modified tree also that has more armor and fewer jewel slots.... once you get the build core, some of the peripheral stuff is personal choice... if you want more defense, then drop dmg nodes, if you're poor or don't plan to run 4 jewels, drop jewel slots and pick up what you need at the time, etc.

1. This debate rages on time and time again along with attack speed and physical damage.... but cast speed is generally considered better for totems since it affects them too.

2. Life is king.... 40 additional life is a good thing.

3. There's been other discussion about this in other threads. If you want to mod your tree and use it.. go for it.

4. Not worth the downside... Infernal mantle downside is cancelled by taking blood magic... and you get enough totem toughness from the tree that you don't *need* the totem life. As for the added totem, the two you get already are plenty damaging enough, but again, if you want to try it...
