[2.2 Video Guide] Beginner's Build: Dual Flame Totem, Blood Magic Chieftain [Atziri & HC/SC Viable]

Is this build safe enough to do Atziri normal? if so, when is the best time to do it?

Currently i'm lvl 77 , started recently in talisman and was wondering if my equipment is good enough or i should get better equipments. My damage at the moment with iron will is 11.4k and with buff is 12.4k and if i switch out iron will with fire penetration, my dmg is 10.2k and with buff is around 11k.

really? 50k dps per totem? what a bullshit! i'm doing 2.5k now, im lvl 68 and 10+ lvl gems. just show me your 50k, and explain where it comes from.

Who do you mean? Next time quote the person and second.. your damage is more than poor.
50k dps, I don't think it's possible. Or maybe with a level 4 empower in a 6L, and GG gear. Even then, I doubt.

@thanachot: I'm not an expert, but people usually say that Atziri, it's more about knowing the mechanics of the fights than about your stats. For what my experience is worth and for your information, I have made her twice, once at level 85 and once recently at level 92. With ~19k dps in both cases, 5k life + 1k ES. I died 2 times the 1st time, and 3 times the second. That's just to say, even though I'm not really good in "technical" fights, if it's your first time, you will suffer whatever your level. I also think that having a good computer is important. In the final fight you have to move all the time and very precisely, so keeping a decent FPS is important. A little bit the same problem as in Malachai's fight, although not that bad.


@ExNephilim: I think they are very close. You should just equip both and take the one having the higher tooltip DPS. In this case there is no hidden DPS buff that would apply to one but not to the other. Just keep in mind that "Add fire damage to spell" does not scale up with the level of FT, so the second one may be weaker at level 21, but better at level 22, for example.

And second - yes, my damage is more, than poor and it shows how poor this build is. The author says that his dps is 50k per totem and that is the lie.

I got this juwel.. if i put out the clear mind i loose 2k dps but win 2 projectiles..




How does the amount of projectiles work? If i am right, the aoe will increase but nothing more?

I have dropped it some time ago, and was about to tell you, 36% less damage for 2 proj, it doesn't worth it. But I had readed wrong, it's just 36% *reduced*. Which usually means only ~10% less, since we already have between +350 and +400% total increased damage.

On my side I also get -2k vs clear mind, starting from 20k dps, so -10% as expected.

Now, projectiles (from the same totem) do not shotgun, that's certain. It means that if the totems have less than 4 targets in range, the two additional projectiles are totally useless. Especially against rares/bosses, that's annoying. Against big packs, in theory it should be 66% more DPS, or AOE, as you say. But this, assuming each projectile would hit a different target whenever it's possible. I have no idea if the game makes it like that.

I've found some comments on reddit about Rain of Splinter + FT, they all say that it's not terrible. But this was before 2.1. With the poison variant, it may be different, since poison is already very good single-target, while comparatively a little bit weaker against packs. I'm going to give it a try.

Could someone please post a skill tree that is based on this guide for a chaos variant with consuming dark? I mean like 1 for directly going for it and then 1 for those who want to go after it at later levels like 80+. That would be really nice because i dont wanna mess up the build.

(Btw great build, i didnt die so far with 78 with 12k tooltip dps per totem (+fire res pen), 50% phys reduction, capped resistances and 4900 ehp)

Differences with the standard tree:
- dropped Celestial Punishment and the node just above (useless for Poison).
- taken the Chaos+DoT nodes on the top left (note that Heart of Flame is still better than this cluster).
- respecced a couple of Totem life/résistances to get one more jewel slot. I think the totems are a little bit too strong.

Other then that, there are not too many possibilities to enhance poison. Maybe the projectile damage nodes right to the Sentinel node (they double-dip), or the increased skill duration nodes. But in fact it's not reallly necessary. With the standard Fire tree, you end up with approximately 50% of your DPS as delayed damage. That's enough. It's important to preserve direct damage as high as possible.

As for a direct tree, I don't know. I think exactly the same would work perfect. One thing to keep in mind is that we don't know what will happen with poison in Ascendancy. It will probably be adjusted. Some people are saying that consuming dark will be nerfed. So it's probably wise to keep a tree that can easily be reverted to Fire, just in case.
Could the consuming dark dagger be used without changing the nodes? I am not experienced but rumor has it that its enough if fire damage is increased because it gets converted to chaos damage, but it is not just like "your fire damage is now chaos damage and all that affects fire is useless now".

For the totem life and resistance:
I find that they can't be too strong because some bosses are just 2 or 3hitting them, if not 1hitting.
Thing is, you can ofc spam totems but for me personally thats not that senseful because i always try to hide behind something or in a dead spot to prevent bosses and mobs from focusing me (even with tankyness, its not good to get focused :D)
