Self-found vs Solo leagues
I would so much rather prefer self-found to AIDS trading that is PoE.
Seriously, Diablo3 is so much better in this regard IMO. You get loot upgrades and you feel good about em. Look, I just dont want to sit for 2 hours and update my procurement/aquisition and fricking spend like 2 hours researching prices etc. IM JUST TRYING TO PLAY YOUR STUPID GAME GGG. IM NOT TRYING TO PLAY RECETTEAR. IF I WAS TRYING TO PLAY RECETTEAR, I WOULD PLAY RECETTEAR: AN ITEM SHOPS TALE. This is an ARPG, right? This is not a fking trades im game. Fk trading aids in this game. Lemme play a god damned ARPG Last edited by posterier#7504 on Apr 27, 2015, 10:54:13 PM

While I'm ambivalent about separate leagues (including paid ones, which GGG has similarly gone quiet on), I see no argument at all as to why allowing characters to be flagged self-found, and enforcing those characters using that style of play and partying purely with others who are self-found would be any kind of issue if they remain in the usual leagues.
The ladders can (and should) be updated in a number of ways. This would be simply adding another filter (show self-found only) along with other filters that are needed (show only players active in last month, show top players by class, show top players by exp gained per minute, show top players by total time played, etc). Perhaps there could even be an option to show accounts by various statistics, including most trades conducted.. |

Permanent self-found league would split up the players too much I think... but I like it as a race event for sure.

" That's interesting. Some say there are too few players that would play such league, and that's why GGG shouldn't worry about creating it. Others like Drax240z think that actually too many players would migrate, creating a significant split at the player base, hurting the economy and so on. Personally I don't think a permanent self-found league would split the community, since I don't believe there are that many true self-found players on standard... but I have reasons to believe that this new league would attract new players, or old players that don't play anymore because of trading frustrations in the past. And, more importantly, a self-found league would prevent players from leaving the game due to trading frustrations. That sound stupid to those who actually like (or love) trading, but believe me, some really don't. |

How about a self-found league supporter pack. After you purchase one, you get to join the self found ladder permanently. It makes GGG money.. players happy.. everybody wins!

" I didn't like the idea at first, but if the solution comes to that, I'd buy for sure. That would be some of those paid leagues they were thinking on implementing back on the closed beta days. |

" Who cares. The people leaving dont trade anyway or fatten my exalts count. bye. Won't be missed. Trade game requires people to trade not freeloaders who wont trade. Git R Dun! Last edited by Aim_Deep#3474 on Apr 28, 2015, 3:57:48 PM

" Trading is great. Fixes bad RNG and allows you to do what you want. Non trading can fuck you hard no matter how much you play. I know guys who had full Tal Rasha set in 3 days in RoS. Some still don't have it 1 year later. They are saddeled with 7 useless tal rasha chests they cant trade up to a set for though. Thats some shit mechanics there. You guys will learn folly of self founded. RNG builds No min maxing No trading inapplicable valuables and good finds for something decent on your own end. Then the cries of "we need better drops" come as you see someone lucky with a volls set and you want it too and can do nothing about it. No more playing will help you. No selling to get it. Nothing. In economics trading is very good to people look at china to didnt trade and now trades. They went from poor dirt farmers to rich almost overnight. It's just good policy to leverage comparative advantage. In real life and in game life. Git R Dun! Last edited by Aim_Deep#3474 on Apr 28, 2015, 4:19:52 PM

" Thanks for that!!! Finally someone who truly don't care about who don't to trade. That's fine. About this: " That's exactly what we want. To suffer the penalties of being unable to trade. And to deal with those penalties. To approach every rare mob with extra care, to get excited with every rare drop. That would lead to RNG builds? Depends on the player. And of course, the luck as well. The point is: the play style would be completely different from the standard league. It's a matter of taste, people are different and have different needs. I'm happy you understand that. =) |
