Were you around for the previous closed beta? Because this has happened before, they haven't avoided it at all. Last CB you could buy your way in too, albeit directly, so to me this is even better, since the people buying the packs didn't know they were buying in to a future beta, heck back in the diamond packs a 2nd expansion wasn't even announced. So this is GGG giving something back to them for their support, not them buying something. It's a gift not a financial transaction, that has past a long time ago.

If you want to climb the ladder in the new A4 season, yes, the CB testers might know more than you and have that advantage. But changes will be done eventually before it goes live.

Actually... people who play in the beta will have a live headstart compared to the rest, as they get to experience the new stuff. Oh and I refuse to watch some asshat playing the game on a stream.

I don't get why people are so upset over the supporters getting an invite (aside from obvious impatient reasons). In my mind it makes a lot of sense inviting people that supported this game to spend some (probably) hard earned money into the beta because they will probably also go and state their opinions on upcoming changes more likely than some random invite, they have already proven to support this game.

Also everyone not getting an invite this way just had a couple hundred players removed from the list that would have competed with them for a random key so this move probably benefits a lot of us.

On things people throw around here like P2W or P2P, I am almost short of words for how dumb that is. How do you win anything by joining the beta? Everything you'll get will be lost in 2 months. And you do not pay to play this game either, you can still play standard/hardcore, and honestly I think most of those people are just bored with the ending one month leagues and don't know what to do with their time before act 4 is coming later this year.

And from the looks of it GGG is already planing on giving those players something to do with the small race events.

The other supporters are less than T1? OMFG .....
The problem is the difference between suporrters, which until now was a simple title, but now NO.

I have been a strong supporter since the start (closed beta) but since i haven´t bought any supporter packs and suchs (exept for microtransactions) or stream im not visible enough to be eligible. A silent supporter dosen´t count for much in regards of getting a key. I guess i´ll have to wait. Still, you would think that spending 1000+ hours, trying every conceivable build for the last two years would net you something.

But im happy to, i would like to experience my favorite game in all it´s - non buggy - glory. And i need a break, i even put PoE in my coffee. And since there is no point in collecting loot and currency because of the wipes, is another reason to wait. And if i still want to experience all the new stuff - Twitch, Youtube or Reddit supply me with all i need, and more. Melee is the only way, and watching Kripp doing everything right in that regard has been fun. I felt a bit nostalgic :) Im going staff-build, this time around it seems viable. Crit! ;)

CB + OB = more time than OB to experience the new stuff, so your statement about open beta does not disprove anything I said. And would you explain how is refusing to watch someone else playing = crying & being jelly?
