I like this move especially since the supporter packs are no longer available making it impossible to buy into beta. I think it's fair of course there will always be people left out of the beta that will get salty but that's just the way a closed beta works.

+1 Only way to have done this correctly!

Well the very right way would have been to sum the transactions made to GGG and not the supporter packs. Not that i would qualify in either way :P

Would probably exceed the amount of players they wanted to invite at this particular moment, hence why they spread the pack invitees over 4 days and not have them all in one day too.

awesome pay money to play new content before others...
i would be ok if you sell beta keys for money for all but this...
Way to go GGG
wayy to go

So there's this grocery store called "Free to Eat" where the food is all free, but you can opt to pay them money if you want to help them stay in business. The grocery store has a policy of no waiting in line for the people who contribute. Two people who do pay money get to move to the front of the line, but the forty five people who don't pay have to wait their turn. Some of these forty five complain that it isn't fair.

The two that pay get disgusted by the sense of entitlement and never return to the store. The store goes out of business and the forty five claim victory. The forty five go back to eating roadkill and whatever they can find in dumpsters, but claim this is better because there is no waiting and everyone has equal access to the rotting food.

Freeganism ( yes, that's a real thing ) doesn't work for online videogames.

I can read and am literate so here comes my judgement of you; You feel that if you have 'real life' commitments - a wedding to pay for, and a home to maintain (and i assume a mortgage) that you, and other's in your sitatuion, because somehow attempting to affiliate yourself with others makes your arguement more valid, but anyway i digress, somehow become entitled to the product, and yes, its is entitlement, if you can't see that then perhaps you don't understand the word as well as you believe you do. This isn't the case. GGG set an entry threshold (as they have in the past), that you didn't meet. Would you go in to a shop, pick out something to buy, get to the counter realize you couldn't afford the item then demand them to lower the price? Since that is exactly what you are doing here ...

Not at all. I dont feel entitled. This is why I said, I didnt like the idea of the random draw but I was willing to wait. It was fair but it sucked to have to wait. What I am entitled to is the exact same treatment given to anyone who has donated money and bought supporter packs. By buying those packs, you receive mircos, points, and other misc items. Nowhere in the supporter pack statements was listed, "spend $xxx.xx and get access" If you read the terms and conditions, ANY RMT that causes any imbalance, unfair in-game advantage, or such is subject to immediate and permanent ban. Also upon donating my money, I was under the same assumption as everyone else that it would not get me any other in-game benefits. That is my problem. They just opened a can of worms that will not sit well with me. It is an unethical approach to solve a problem that was created with the new closed beta. If I were to sell my beta key (if i were to get one), I would be banned. If I were to buy one, I would be banned. So how is it that this announcement just said that the previous High Dollar Supporters basically just bought one.
Oh em GGG... I was already hyped out of my mind and now Divination Cards? The hype man, THE HYPE :D
Can't wait and awesome job GGG.

And just a small rant on the salty whining children not getting their lollipop 1st:

Spoiler
For the whining asshats... if there weren't any big donations in the past act 4 wouldn't be here now, almost ready do go. You should be thankful to those generous supporters, but I guess some people just can't help themselves to be anything but self centered egoists. "Unfair even though it will be wiped"... c'mon get real for a moment you can see all the content on various stream, and you can read all about it on poe sites or reddit and so on.
Some days ago in forums there was some rage about game supporters not getting free passes into the Beta.
And now those salty bitter ppl complaining that high end supporters getting access to the CB is an "In-game advantage"... shush
If thats advantage then how about the fact that they can design items to the game? Isn't it advantege too? Why didn't we heard complaints and b*tching about it before?
God damn these kind of people that will throw rocks at the company they previously adored just because they are so bitter and jelly at others whose get into CB. Now suddenly all the peeps that are into CB are high end Supporters... #Kappa
Get off your high horse, you can still play 1.3.1.
Balance is an illusion, exile.
@ISuckAtGames

They didn't buy a key, GGG rewarded them with a key for breaching a certain threshold of payment. If you been given a key you wouldn't be here complaining, but because you didn't get a key because you contributed less you feel the system is unjust and corrupt or whatever.

Also entitlement; the belief that one is inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.

That is the dictionary definition, and you certainly fit the category, you feel that because you are a supporter (regardless the sum of monetary contribution) you deserve the privilege (and yes it is a privilege) of being in the beta.

I have spent the better part of 2 hours trying to explain this, your welcome to join the crusade but I fear it's rather futile ...
