I'm not arguing the definition of P2W. I'm saying it's irrelevant. You wouldn't even have a forum to voice your opinion on if it wasn't for them, particularly the ones who donated so big so early in PoE's development, nevermind a game to play.
GGG chose to give those people a nod of respect for keeping Wraeclast in existence. I'm fine with that.
This is not, many people support the game, not only + 1k ...

Can you atleast like... learn to read. Seriously.
it's not like they get a headstart after closed beta
After the Close Beta finishes and everything gets wiped, how much of a "Headstart" are you imagining there would be anyway?
(Game Data before actual Act 4 release will likely be different from the final stages of the CBT and even then, info that would remain would most likely be archived/available for anybody to see)
Oh the irony.... I know the characters will be wiped, but it's about the KNOWLEDGE that those closed beta players will have.
They will know the monsters/bosses AI
They will know how to circumnavigate the new dungeons and main town better
They will know/understand builds more
They will know/understand the skill tree, etc, etc
It's not a clean slate when the server goes live.. It's an ADVANTAGE.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/advantage
any state, circumstance, opportunity, or means specially favorable to success, interest, or any desired end:
Logic would dictate that there will be changes before release that no one from CBT (outside of developers) would be able to test out. These changes would be of no consequence - no advantage here.
If the state of the game at the end of CBT mirrors that of the actual release and/or certain CBT info remains the same as that of the release, do you actually believe that information would not be shared (if not already shared) by the time of release?
I mean seriously, all one needs to do is go reddit.
Experienced players who weren't able to ride the CBT train will have everything they need from tons of info sources to be able to do just fine. New players on the other hand wouldn't even care about the 'competition' right from the get go.

There are no wipes on open beta (generally that I know). So that is irrelevant since it will be a live server.
Even if there was a wipe, they would have to leave that open beta up for as long as closed beta and some to even out the time lost we non-closed-beta players had.
They would have to literally refund us the time we lost to mitigate the Pay 2 Win they endured upon us. If that make sense.
What I'm saying it we would need reimbursement for time loss to equal out the playing field since we never got to play in that time period.
1. This is a video game. I think you're taking it way too seriously
2. Life is not fair. Everyone learns this at some point. Once you accept it, life becomes easier in some aspects.
3. I think it was said by GGG that nothing from beta (closed and open) will be kept into the release. It will be a full wipe.
4. I suspect there will be some content held until release that no one will see in beta.
1) Doesn't
2) Change the
3) Definition of
4) Pay 2 Win.
Knowledge is pay 2 win to you? wow.

I'm astonished, to read about this pay to win situation. It is the first step GGG goes in this direction.
Very very sad.. but well, thats how our life works, as it seems...
I was hoping, they would stay faithful to theier initial intentions :/

There will be an open beta before release.
Yep. It will also be near complete i imagine.
Im happy to wait til open beta and in meantime play the game we have now.
No trade event sounds like it could be fun, cheers GGG, keep up the good work
'Near complete' Proves my point eve more.
Once it's near complete, then the server will go live. Leaving us non-closed-beta players in the dirt with no knowledge whatsoever with content and most likely will be left strangling below the ladder; while the top streamers and top supporters/donator's ease their way up the ladder with knowledge from closed beta.
All of this is happening while we sit back in the dirt doing what they did 3 months ago while they're already ahead of the game.. It's a joke and unfair.
Everyone deserves access to closed beta for an equal level playing field at launch.
