A potential change I'm keen to hear your thoughts on

I think it would be a way better change if abilities didn't use the energy shield before mana, that way it would still be somewhat usefully for MoM builds. Otherwise, it will just always be at 0 and won't help in anyway. Maybe add a node behind it like "your skills spend energy shield before mana" so it could still be used in that way if wanted. The way it is worded currently doesn't make sense anyways.

Ok I was leaving it at this but lets also make a suggestion:

Have it as it was before with a change to make things slightly harder

How about EB does this instead:

60% of Energy shield converted to mana
40% of Energy shield is lost.

I personally prefer this as a solution. It adds a drawback to EB without making it have all the problems you have introduced to it and it would require a little more investment than currently to make it as good.

Alternatively you could make it cost more to get to like 4 int nodes before it.

Or you could add 2 nodes with drawbacks that are needed to get it.

Like -40% mana regeneration
-20% increased maximum mana
EB

There are loadsof things you can do without reinventing the wheel to nerf it.
