I did some very quick math in game by putting various bits of gear on/off and a rather simple formula came back: Energy Shield Recovery Per Second = Max Energy Shield / 3

That's it, you need 3 seconds to replenish you ES from 0 to the max.

I am contemplating buying some 6S ES/Armor hybrid chest piece and looking at the prefix list.

Carapaced - 71 - Base Physical Damage Reduction Rating - 323 to 400

...

Carapaced - 73 - Local Base Physical Damage Reduction Rating - 323 to 400

What is the difference between base and local base? The armor in question is ilvl 71. Can I get this flat armor mod on it, or only if it is ilvl 73+?

Because of the local armor% at ilvl 72 (Girded), I think I am going to wait for a different piece.

I think the way it works is that the base +armor mods are for belts only, then local base is chest/gloves/boots/helmets and can get modified by +armor% before any passives, or by the last type of mod, the low global armor% mod which I think only shows up on amulets.

I am working on a site too which takes these pages and the info from the mods compendium and makes them easier to read/use by item type, so I might have some more questions like this.

edit: Also, I am trying to figure out what can be on all the types of hybrid armors. For ES/Armor hybrids, I assume that I can get local base +armor as well as local base +ES, but then I have to look at the "Hybrid Defenses", not local armor +% or local ES +%...

Interpolated - 72 - Local Armour And Energy Shield +% - 100 to 120

Can I get all the way up to the top tier of local base +armor as well as local base +ES on a hybrid piece, or are they restricted to armor or ES-only pieces?

I'm having a short question about blocking. Is it possible to Block while I'm currently using a skill? Lets say I currently use Leap Slam or Whirling Blades and get hit while I'm jumping around. Will the attacks autohit me, or is there still a chance to Block them?

I don't know but it is a good question. I think it will be different for attacks or spells and you just said "currently using a skill".

I think with casting a spell, interruption during the cast time just comes when you get stunned or when you block and the hit would have stunned so you play the block animation.

My guess when using attacks is that you still keep blocking and do not get autohit. The attack is just un-interruptible. I have been wondering this too sort of though. If it is possible to keep blocking and you can't get interrupted mid-cyclone, then there is little point in taking unwavering stance on a new cyclone build.

Base X means a flat addition of a stat. Local Base X means a flat addition of a stat onto the item in question.

A chest armour can only get Local defense stat improvements. The non-local Base stat is used by jewelry (I think only belts and amulets get that particular one). In other words, you'd need an ilvl 73 armour for it, whereas an ilvl 71 Belt would be able to get the other affix.
Thanks, I felt like it started to make sense like that the more I looked at it.

Amulets can definitely get +accuracy, but I looked through a lot of jewelry and I don't think they can get + base defense, only +% from this lower category:

I think I am at the point where I can almost start adding mods to my website. I will probably post a link here when it is partway done for some feedback and hopefully people cna catch some errors if I make any.
I like the effort you have put in to this thread. Some useful information. At this point in time i only read the first page since it contained the info i was looking for but noticed an small FIX.

the part where you mention that flasks, gems, items, and maps can have +1 - +20% quality on drop is false. The minimum quality value on a found item is +5%

If you regenerate more ES than you lose from righteous fire, does the ES Recovery still trigger? Or does it still count as I am "taking" damage?
You are still taking damage, yes.
Does Attack speed cap out at certain levels or is frenzy bugged??

I have a
that sets my attack speed at 2.84 with 5 charges.

My
with 5 charges also sets my attack speed at 2.84.

The quality gem gives 15% AS per charge, while the non quality gives 9% per charge.

I also checked the damage on my LA while using either frenzy, and LA's damage was the same for both..

I can take screenshots later if needed for proof.
