Guys, you all seem to think in a completely wrong direction. What you are telling about has not much to do with my statement.

The actual situation on the ARPG market is very clear: ATM there are NO actual and interesting ARPGs. At least, in the european/american region, no idea how it seems in the asian region with theier manga games :)

And the whole gamers community wishes profoundly a good ARPG. I know, some of us are not interested in playing D3, but the most ARPG fans are interested in D3.

So a huge part, I would say, the most part of the "money givers" would have no time and maybe no spare money for PoE if PoE gets released some months after D3. D3 is developed as a sick addicting game to chain a gamer to it - I dont think the most of you would be able and willing to play at the same time two good ARPGs.

Why not to release PoE with just first 3 acts and to implement the rest later? Sure, it would be a fast death for PoE if it gets released bugged and unpolished. But it may be a faster death for PoE if there are not enough customres because the most of them are catched by D3.

Its important to understand the situation about being not able to play poE because its not released and NOT to start playing D3 if it is there and ready to play. Its maybe possible to w8 1 or 2 months for PoE and not to start playing D3 while w8ing for PoE. But I dont think that many gamers can go without fun longer than 1-2 months while w8ing for PoE and looking on D3 and on the whole world playing D3 and screming how good it is.

No one really cares if any other x game will make it earlier than PoE, or not. The success of PoE comes from its hard-workout and superb-communication via testers, that's it !
Since it does not pursue a money gain goal like x company, there is no any advantage being made earlier than x game(s)

Still don't understand the point of an alpha. Seems incredibly redundant. Game is open to a select few so we can test, lets make it open to even a smaller set of people so they can test for the testers?

Alpha is testing for stability and basic integrity of the game systems. The purpose is to weed out crippling exploits and flaws that prevent beta testers from testing the larger portion of the game.

What good is telling 10,000 people to download a client, waste bandwidth and time, only to be greeted with "game crashes upon completing quest X" or "half the skills coefficients are screwed up, balance feedback is pointless because the skills don't even do their intended damage in the first place."

Think of it using multiple filters. You use the cheapest, most efficient filter with the biggest holes to get the rocks that would trash the finer, smaller, more expensive filters.

They could have just unleash this patch on the beta realm, but they would waste a ton of cash, generate a ton of negative publicity, etc.

0.93 may change the game a lot but there won't be many new crashes, most stuff that worked in 0.92 will work in 0.93 too. There will be some new bugs but that isn't realy the point of the alpha test.

Balancing is delaying the beta right now. I don't want to complain here and i'am fine with waiting but i wanted to point out what they are doing right now.

I'm a beta tester and I do share my opinions and experiences about this great game I'm allowed to test.
Why do you expect to hear from me the same things you are having in mind?

I'm an different person than you and I'm thinking in a different way than you - sure you can wonder about this fact. I've stated my point of view.
I respect ur point of view about "GGG doesnt want to make much money", but I dont share it. I dont think, GGG is making PoE just for fun and to lay some money out while developing.

GGG has, for sure, an financial adviser and an manager and those guys want for sure get some "money gain". And this money gain will be diminished by a competitor in form of D3.

Stopped playing for good since my char is going to get wiped, Still waiting.

I understand waiting for the new 9.3 update can be hard – but stay with us! We’ll need you when the patch drops.

Right now we’re focus testing on the Alpha realm, things are getting done though! There’s been a lot of discussions and a lot of feedback from various Alpha members.

I can’t give you any specifics you don’t already know, but whenever the beta patch hits we’ll need everyone to discuss the changes and help out with feedback.
