I fear, it could take additional 6 months to balance PoE properly. So a release is not in sight.
I fear, the most potential customers will be forced to play diablo 3, because diablo 3 will be released a way earlier than poe. Even if a gamer doesnt really want tp play d3 and want to play poe, he will be "forced" to play d3 if there is nothing else on the market.
PoE seems to be in a really initial development stage, it could take 1 year or longer before a final version is possible.
On the news page were no actual news for almost one month... its just sick if you ask me.
The simple fact that we tend to compare D3 with Poe is an accomplishment in itself, considering GGG doesn`t have anywhere near the financial resources a company like blizzard has...
Not to mention that GGG is a comparatively small and low-budget studio that has been working on their first game for 5 years... Blizzard has been working on D3 for 10 years, just now having something to show for it.
GGG is working hard, making fast progress for how small they are. The game will be ready when it's ready, and we surely can all agree that a buggy early launch is no better than a late launch.
Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.

Someone should hold a ladder race between GGG, Blizzard, Runic Games, and Valve.

It is not really "No better", it is "bloody terrible". See: hellgate: london. That game had such promise, but the release status, well, it would have been kind to call it beta quality. I was a tester for it all the way back to alpha, even bought a lifetime subscription, and look where that got me now :P
Release the game as finished, not a half finished, desperate bid to make some money, please.
