It's not. For players. But for GGG top brass, who like to nurture their economy simulator, it's an issue.

I would rather use vaal orb on item (sale good item) and buy fragment set with the currency.

While i agree that frags really need a new method to be farmed, using vaal orbs as a component to do so is at best a poor idea imo.
It's like the recipe for chisels to made them more easy to get...

Most of us now know how to use vaal orbs, and most of us will agree that they are somewhat rare. One vaal orb for a chance to get a fragment isn't enough. It takes more time to drop a vaal orb than finding a corrupted area.

Atziri is a really fun map to run. But the access to it is stupid. Maybe creating a lvl 60 ish Apex with a guaranted vaal gem or frag at the end would be better.

Corrupting a map isn't always viable, especially for HC players.

Yes, Im doing just that. As if I didn't already vaal 78s, for: fun, chance to get 79, just for fvcks because I have a ton of them and don't even like to play 78s tier...

As if vaaling 78s makes them suddenly impossible to run or give zero returns. It's the same map, with a possible bonus risk/reward on top.



couldn't agree more, nice to see at least one reasonable poster here that gets it.

the amount of constant crying and bitching for ez xp to 100, ez frags, ez acuity, ez orbs, ez this and that.. its unbelievable. no pain no gain, you all want everything to be ez and effortless. . gl in life

ggg knows what its doing.. this is a solid a non over the top, non overreaction tweak (for all the whiners sake) that doesn't upset the balance of things too much in destroying the value of the best item in the game (keeps acuity holders happy), while creating more enjoyable mapping (for everyone).

I'm at the point now with my primary toon, a lvl 87 Witch, of trying to find corrupted zones in lower level areas and getting basically zero XP while doing it or getting XP, gear and lvls in maps. Seeing as I can only play about 1-2 hours at a time a couple of times a week means that I rarely ever run anything other than master dailies and maps.

Being able to do BOTH (maps w/ corrupted areas randomly spawning in them) at the same time would be incredible! As it stands right now I could care less about EVER killing Atziri so long as I want to continue level this toon and collect/craft gear for other builds I'd like to try out via other toons at some point.

I've never understood why in order to run end game content a player would be forced to go back and spend so much time in early to mid-game content collecting fragments.

GGG please continue to tweak things, maybe one day corrupted areas WILL spawn in maps! :D

GGG have access to all the data and behaviours of players across all leagues. They're better placed than anyone to make decisions like this. They'll make this change and see how it works out. Then, keep tweaking if required.

Maybe they saw that too many players were stockpiling Vaal orbs and wanted to give them another sink, or make them more tradeable? Before this, I hardly ever saw someone wanting to buy/sell vaal orbs.

If any problems arise (e.g. not enough vaal orbs), or it doesnt have the desired effect (e.g. not enough people run corrupted maps), they'll make changes again.

They do make changes to improve things! Some examples:

- Maps are far easier to acquire now
- Next league masters will require less xp
- We now have another way to farm Vaal fragments
- Guaranteed ways to craft 6S + 6L
- Introducing a way to sell faster from mapping - their solution to introduce this via housing is far more elegant than any other solution I've seen

and tons of other stuff. True, there are still some issues with other things but the game keeps improving, because GGG is willing to put in the effort to improve it. It's not to say they dont make mistakes - they do, as do we all, but at least they keep driving the whole game forward.

Each solution they introduce isn't going to be of benefit to everyone, as everyone plays differently.

tbh, I argued that CZs should spawn in maps too, right from day 1. They could be very rare, so to not "break" the current setting and would still provide a natural endgame progression (because that's the issue). Going back with your high char., farming faceroll zones, so that you can go forward, doesnt make any sense (it only makes sense for the economy).

This change is an improvement (I'll take anything), but it's still not the right solution.

This is a nice tweak nonetheless.
