Combination of Ice Bite gem with Herald of Ice grants us frenzy charges (High Q and Level of Ice Bite gem is very important to ease our time maintaining the frenzy charges).
A bit harder to maintain than the other charges but most of the time you'll have them all.

I would suggest to go into pure cold damage using a 5l Taryn:
Nova - Faster Cast - Spell echo - Increased Area/Concentrated effect - Cold penetration

Mana issues should be no big deal, just use 2 Auras instead of 3 (Works fine without HoT)

5l Daressos with a lvl1 Cwdt Setup is a very nice alternative if you want to stay safe and cheap.
Damaga still should be fine up to lvl 77/78 maps. Just some bosses might be tough, but with increased AoE and keeping them on distance using Ice Wall it's not a big deal

As long as u stick to crits as main priority i guess u can do that.

Since I will be playing on standard, I opted for number 1. But with the way the guide is setup, I'm not really sure which tree and guidance is for that option.
