A Cold Crit Witch Guide 2.0 (RE-DONE!) Check it out!

Not sure if it's been suggested already but how about an Amulet that takes away EXP but increases Item Rarity and Item Quantity by say 50% each.

Cold penetration will give you something like ~33% overall damage increase.*
Because this is applied after everything else : it multiplied all your damage.

* If the mob have 0% cold resist. On a 75% cold resist mob, cold penetration will give you
something like a 130% damage increase !
You deal 25% damage on a mob with 75% resist without ColdPen
You deal 58% of your damage on a mob with 75% resist with ColdPen (75%resist - 33% = 42% effective resistance !)

And it scale with Frosbite / Elemental weakness :)

Cold Penetration >>>>> Critical damage increase.

For the Chaos Inoculation users, I recommend you a Blood rage lvl 1.
With the extra Frenzy charge of the Shadow tree (was on my path for the second nullification node) and the extra Frenzy charge from bandits in Merciless, it is 25% fastcast.
Better than haste, and no drawback (the %life damage is deal as chaos, so with CI...)

Thank you so much Felkor, it seems i would deal more average damage with cold pen instead of crit multiplier. So far i have spent more than 200 chromatics. Is just stupid how much bad luck i got. So i cant give it a try until i find a GGGBB ES Vaal Regalia or maybe when i got 600-700 chroms

Thanks anyways you were helpful to me

Just reading the discription of Blood Rage here:

Chaos Inoculation: This keystone will make you completely immune to the life drain effect of the skill. Since you are always considered to be at full life with Chaos Innoculation, you do not receive the Low Life Attack Speed bonus.

Most explicity the part that goes "Since you are always considered to be at full life with Chaos Innoculation, you do not receive the Low Life Attack Speed bonus."

So does it still work?

You don't get the attack speed bonus from low life but you're getting free frenzy charges really easily and with FP/IS you can get up max stacks within a few seconds.

a build without items is not a full guide.

Im running atm 1totem + freezing pulse. I would like to switch for full freezing pulse build but i will need a lot more casting speed(to outcast fast archers, snakes in vaal ruins, and other nasty mobs)

So what about items? what to focus on? Atm im curious about boots. I noticed they almost never have big ES, so you must concentrate on other stats they can offer. Same with gloves and helmet. Any ideas?
I swear if they make some maven "Simon says" insta-death minigame, sirus, exarch ball minigame then i wont play poe2.

If you're running CI you'll want ES on them all, it adds up to quite a bit.
As for the items themselves:
Flat ES + % ES increase.
Mana/mana regen are both nice to have, having more mana allows you to run purity eventually.
Crit chance/damage on gloves
As much movespeed as you can find on boots
Resists are always important
Increased cast speed too

Wand/Dagger is obvious, high spell damage + level to cold gems.
Shield you either want spell damage or a high ES one, can get a bit of both though if you're lucky.

Will make a basic item page eventually, haven't the time to do so.

I'm currently doing CI with Blood rage...
At around 2,2k x 3 dps (lmp) and close to 3 casts/sec (will be shortly) it's insane..
However..you need good gear...
Flicker strike mobs are handled with

and extra crit/crit multi with

Thank you Shibloble for the walkthrough. It saved me a lot of trial and error by clearly presenting out the upsides and downsides of build choices.

I am currently on my way to your default ci build. I got one tip for all newcomers:

Dont build towards ci from the start. It is quite fast to reach ci, but the gear is most prob not up to standard yet.

I would have rather went towards the hp build first, start collecting another set of gear at a3 cruel , then respec over. This takes quite a few more orbs of regret but I think its worth it for any ci ppl who prefer solo.

Will be great if more ppl can add on or deny this too :) I am currently unable to solo anything at a2 cruel even if I prioritised all the es nodes and 20% for all armor pieces

Added my current status at lvl 40:

I shd have rather not ventured up to ci anf the 60% crit and spent more into the starting hp and mana nodes.

CI shouldn't be taken till (roughly there is no exact time) you have 2-2.5k ES, decent damage and max resis. This is normally 50+

Is the only positive effect of CI immunity to chaos? it seems like such a big sacrifice to lose your life pool. I know in the past it used to provide an absurd amount of ES (50%????!) but now it provides zero added ES.

i have nearly 2 ES but i just dont see the value in losing about 700 health for chaos immunity.
