[2.2] Guide for Life based Crit Dagger Reave

" Thank you sir, it's a small thing but it's nice to have your efforts appreciated. I am curious, since you obviously played this build pre-2.2 also, can you do the very late game with it? I'm not talking Uber necessarily but e.g. twin Core map / twin Ambrius. The hard stuff. Shavronne wrapped Kaom's waist, with her gilded purple boots. "You want my sockets?" I finally am at end game with this build doing maps, currently level 73. I just realized something with this build or am missing something. What is supposed to cause generation of Endurance Charges in this build? There's nothing in the skill tree, item build, or skill gems yet IC only works when Endurance charges are present based on its description. Am I just overseeing what causes endurance charges here or is there indeed no source for their generation, ergo rendering IC useless. Thanks
Kush Also, thank you for your reply to my initial question regarding the VP + Bino's confusion, always nice to see a content creator keep things up to date. Appreciate ya Last edited by TheKush47#1593 on Mar 21, 2016, 12:52:46 AM

I see that there are still questions about gems
I am not op but here is what im thinking why he kept it this way -Cwdt + IC + ID + Vaal Haste serves as a VERY short IC but the ID makes it worth for haste. You can run EC to make IC last longer however you would need to break up the leap slam or vaal reave (or use two ID) which is not bad in some certain situations. However things will never be perfect like you want -PhysToLightning may be tempting but most enemies have high ele resistance not to mention you need WED to make it worth. Might as well go LS build -Lastly Pcoc. Deadly infusion makes the power charge worth because of the huge extra crit multi. Not to mention when you get passives to get +1 for many charges to stack. FA is nice for flat damage bonus but if you keep power charges constantly up rather 10% chance it will be better bc crit multi stacking Last edited by clandestinehp#1801 on Mar 21, 2016, 4:58:58 AM

" FA is indeed the best choice. " Shadows and Dust are really cool gloves and can be incredible powerful. However if you want to try optimizing your character, you will notice that it provides redundant mods (Unholy Might is already provided by DH). Combined with the fact that instant leech is kinda required for endgame mapping, your long term goal should always be Acuity. Until then, there is nothing wrong with having some fun with Shadows and Dust. " The character is resting in Standard. While I always keep the guide updated, my main foucs is currently to compete in the challenge leagues. " IC can also proc without having any Endurance Charges. " This sums up my point of view quite accurately. The main reason behind not using EC is because - it slows you down alot - it is annoying to continously maintain Charges and time EC - EC range is much lower than AoE Reave, making you more prone to get hit by engaging mobs close range - The Endurance Charges are not really needed Pupicitas: lv. 100 Shadow

Is FA really still better than Pcoc even with the sin tree? Enemies at full life will never get you a power charge bc of ambush. With pcoc you will always have charges. Both from your high crit stats & pcoc as well as the tree for non crit procs
Im guessing the reason why FA seems better is because you only get one +1 to power charges. If you have 2 or 3 more than it would be better to constantly keep them up with pcoc rather FA This leads me to the question of why did you pick up deadly infusion rather than assassinate on top of not even using pcoc? If you have a +1 from Allira rather than +1 Frenzy doesnt deadly infusion benefit more? 10% more duration + crit multi + base crit per charge This in return making pcoc more worth vs assassinate w/FA a better combo Last edited by clandestinehp#1801 on Mar 21, 2016, 2:38:07 PM

From what I see here you skip a lot of potential jewels soket to gain str that is not needed and 5% life nods.. in the end i don't think the trade is worth as you could get some nice 7% jewels with dmg mods on them.
Also you are using death's hadn which I only see as a viable option with a mirrored dagger. Otherwise the dmg boost from aura is too low. I find the Catalyst to be a better option. |

"If you have good Jewels (7% life + 2 useful damage mods) it is worth it to replace two 5% nodes from the Scion life cluster with a Jewel socket."
Check out the 1st page again. The only reason you are getting more damage from aura is because of the higher phys on the cata. Honestly catalyst has higher phys damage, more APS ~0.1, and obviously way more ele. However it does not have unholy might which is 30% phys to chaos. Also the power charges on stun is a nice bonus especially for sin tree It seems the real difference is the crit. DH gets up to 50% crit chance vs. Cata 40% global crit chance This build focuses not on global passives or gear so it does much better with local crit. For reave being straight physical the death's hand is better especially when its a high end one compared to even a high end catalyst. Even most phys to ele builds like LS now use sword/shield or 2H weapons. Catalyst is mostly for pure ele builds like RF Last edited by clandestinehp#1801 on Mar 22, 2016, 2:06:30 PM

" Direct quote from the OP: Main Attack [6L]: Reave - Multistrike - IncMeleeDmg - ICD** - Inc. AoE - PCoC So I don't get where the assumption that I would be using FA comes from. " Deaths hand scales from your base dmg, so it will you always give you the same relative DPS increase, regardless if your dagger is mirrored or not. Doryani's Catalyst does not offer anything of high value for this build. The crit is neglectable and scaling elemental dmg on a phys build is far less impactful than adding 30% of your phys as extra chaos dmg. " The base stats of the stat stick do not matter at all. You only look at global mods which are 100% WED + 40% crit VS 30% of phys added as chaos (and mini PCOC). Pupicitas: lv. 100 Shadow

Hey i got to lvl 60 and im having some problems im wondering if you could help. Love this build btw ive done reave since 1.2
I took respec two points from mind drinker and put them down to get the two more mana leech passives. In return mana is better but is there anyway i can use more than like 3 whirling blades at a time until oom? How the heck do you lvl leap slam and enfeeble the same time? With an onyx im wearing and black sun helmet im out of int for enfeeble. Any suggestions? What lvl do you keep IC and CWDT? Is belly of the beast still viable endgame or lightning coil & daresso better? Theres also a new one that gives 100% duration to all charges? Any unique helms? Why not? What flasks you use? Kinda becoming more important these days for builds I appreciate the time ty! |
