[2.2] Guide for Life based Crit Dagger Reave

Hi

I wanted to start new league with a melee shadow and your guide was very useful. I tinkered a little bit with the first version of the tree, as I don't like Duelist starting area too much, and came up with this variation.

The main difference, in comparison to the duelist one, is in life %, but I think 144% should be enough for SC. Block is the same, and other differences can be seen here (your build one the right side). Also, since flasks were boosted, I picked up appropriate clusters.

Any suggestions or criticism is very welcome ;)

Suggestions for improvements:
The Evasion cluster is very weak. I would recommend to skip it. The Attackspeed nodes at the shadow start are dps wise better than the 10% phys dmg nodes. If you start as ranger I would not get the first 2 shadow nodes. I guess you don't play with power charges since you skipped the node. You could rearrange the 2 int + 1 dex node to get it if you also take Coldhearted Calculation. There were some changes to the Crit Weakness Curse leaked that it migth give power charges on kill in the future. So even the node will be useful if you don't use pcoc.

144% Life would give me ~4580Hp which is far to low for atziri. If you do not plan on farming her than it is suffiecent.

I am currently minmaxing my tree so keep an eye on the thread for updates. The final tree will be quite a bit more powerful.

Thanks!

I'll play a little bit more and try to optimize it. Atziri is out of the question for me, so I won't go much higher with hp.

Will be checking for updates definitely :)

Yeah, it's cut off at the edge. I could access it over the quote function though.
I personally dislike dual wield builds really much, since the DPS buff isn't actually that significant and you loose heavily out on defences. As many attacks actually alternate your weapon, DW also requires you to buy two end game weapons which is very pricy.

Your tree had far to few life. I made it a bit more efficient by going to ranger via the outer rigth path and invested the free points in life nodes at the duelist start. With ~150% life the tree is now decent, however for endgame probably still to fragile due to the absence of a shield.

I like this build, and will probably try something similar to it. However, my question for you is how would you modify it for HC league (Beyond)?
Thanks.
This tree focuses on getting a huge life pool (I will have ~5.4k with my gear) and is thus VERY viable for HC league.

Thank you.
I know you said you use this with reave, but can work with flicker or double strike. I am toying with the idea of a crit dagger Spectral Throw. Would the tree still work with that setup?
Sick tree, using a modified version of this with IR when respec drops, any recommended changes for reave?

Nice tree. I can't understand why didn't you take Acrobatics, you could drop a bit of life initially. Spell dodge is so useful, since you don't have spell block in so many situations (except for unique bosses: you can switch to Saffel or rathpith+stone of lazwhar). Anyway, since you've gone so far to reach the Scion's starting area, I would have taken the reflexes notable: 40% more eva is very good for only 2 passive point, but they are skippable of course coz the pure evasion from the gear should be good if you have good gear.

If you're gonna use evasion gear, I can't fully understand your choice: you can easely do a tank build with high block, eva and dodge. If you would have been armor specced, then I would have understand that the phys reduction from armour could help agains reflection.

Imho you've put too much on life, though it's not a bad choice in the end for tankers.
