Cheap, Tanky, DPSy: Summon Raging Spirit [not updated for 1.3+]
Hey there, everybody. Not long ago I started building my character following this build. My current tree looks like this:
http://tinyurl.com/nqjolst Could some say, whether I should go for additional life nods, or start gaining that ones which are to reinforce the spirits? Or maybe I'd better get the Reduced Mana Reservation points? I've about 1400 life and 600 mana which is not much, but on the other hand my damage is miserable too. As a main attack skill, I use the flameblast gem that does about 106 DPS. And, I guess, there's no need in saynig that my gear is crap:

" #1 Summon Raging Spirit - the 10% extra moement speed for skulls really helps #2 Increased Duration - Flesh Offering, Vaal Haste and Vaal Discipline all benefit #3 Arctic Armor - the 7% Movement Speed for yourself is helpful - the best defense is not getting hit at all #4 all others (except auras) - the bonuses are minor compared to #1-#3, stuff like 10% to shock (Arc) will only give short shocks, 10% increased melee damage doesnt add much damage etc. #5 Auras - the 20% increased radius comes to about 1 lenmgth of your char in extra aura reach Dear Maligaro,

" Your problems are: - that you are building the SRS tree while using Flameblast, so your Flameblast is not supported - you are building the tree the wrong way around (you should start with moving to the right, so you can get Eldritch Battery which will allow you to support Clarity, Arctic Armour and cast a lot of skulls), and much later on switch to the right side. If I were you I would use free respec nodes (and Regrets if you need them) to: - remove the Life and Chaos Resistance nodes and the two int nodes leading to it, giving you 6 points - take the 5 Spell Damage Nodes leading out the left of the Witch start area and the 8% Elemental Damage node leading to Fire Walker - take Fire Walker as your next node This will give you 88% increased fire damage which should beef up your Flameblast so you can actually level with it. Next I would move towards Eldritch Battery and Influence, and then towards Sovereignty again, so you can start running three auras (hatred, haste, clarity) and switch to Zombies and Spirits for dps (you are leveling a Zombie gem, are you?) and Arctic Armor for defense. " Minion Damage is not bad, it is just that 15% increased damage is not that much as you already have 100% damage by definition, about 100% increased damage from gems and about 100% increased damage from the tree, so you go from 300% to 315% (an effective gain of only 5%), while a level of SRS is an effective gain of 15-20% And yes, level 4 Empower takes too long and I don't think I will get a +3 staff in this league (maybe, if I keep liking this build I will mirror a perfect +3 staff in Standard in 2.5 months). BTW: Is there a mirror service for a staff like that now? Couldnt find one with a quick search. You can level with searing bond + SRS just fine. I personally wouldn't spend points on fire/burning damage in the tree.
Also I feel like not using splash is a legitimate option after comparing my clear speed in a crematorium to rhaegar's. It is true that in some maps you get solo mobs, like statues, and splash doesn't help. I still lean 80/20 towards splash myself, especially since in some cases (blue mobs in atziri runs, allies cannot die rares/totems) it's necessary, and I'd rather just have it all the time than swap. Isnt it better to run in 6 L until we get Empower 3-4 this setup: SRS>ECHO>Multistrike>Melle phys dmg> Melle SPlash > Added Fire dmg ?

my mind exploded when i saw you deleted your accounts ;P i had just respecced into your srs build (lvl 97 ) now all i miss is a 6l es chest and atziri gets bitchslapped right in the tits have fun with the studies :) cant use the masters to put cast speed on my staff, so i went with up to 50% increased duration of curses instead.. |
