Oh, PLEASE... make selectively clicking on an enemy optional

+1 for UI improvements.
Reviving this thread over this and this one due to age and size.

I complained about it in Torchlight 2 (main forums here and here) and even they haven't added it yet.

This is why I play a Witch instead of one of the many melee classes.

I attempted to play a marauder and I had to stop after 6 levels because my wrist started hurting. This is compared to my witch which I played for 25 levels without issue.
I don't mean to sound rude, but I can't help the way people interpret my words.

This needs to be implemented. Great game, but the lack of this feature really takes away from the feeling of wading into a mass of enemies and hacking away at them.
I've been pining for this for a while.

I think the only time I bother to post here is to support and/or re-iterate that the game needs "Right Click Driving" or "Attack+Move" or whatever you want to call it. It's simply unacceptable to be missing such a fundamental UI mechanic from a 2013 game, when it's been around in various forms since DiabloII and Starcraft. (Circa 1998).

Single-target melee skills are simply not practical without it. They are already gimp enough compared to AoE for various other reasons. Having to give myself RSI to use them is the nail in the coffin.

Arguments against boil down to discussions of balance which are irrelevant.
Or that it is "Easy Mode" or "Playing for you", which misses the point that a USER INTERFACE is supposed to translate what I want to happen in my brain to actual action in the program. If the number of clicks required to perform rudimentary actions were an accurate gauge of difficulty, then Diablo I would be rocket science.
Would be nice to have it. Been playing a melee class and this would be awesome. With all the shit going on especially in a large group this would be a godsend
+1 I totally support this idea.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

+1 for Right-Click Driving!

Diablo II had a similar feature known as "right-click driving" (though it was undocumented and few people seem to have known about it), where if you selected a melee attack on right-click, and right-clicked the ground (empty space), you would move, attack, kill, and move on, all without lifting the button.

This is my #1 request for the game at the moment. Hands down. Full support.

Unfortunately, the thread I made on the subject didn't seem to get much attention...

Same here brother; http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/79209

I often used shift-click and held my mouse button down to keep attacking enemies without having to "reacquire another target"... Please
