Any thoughts on doing this build as a Shadow instead of a Ranger?

No problem, you just trade a bit of attack speed and accuracy for movement speed. To get the idea, you can find some leveling trees for shadow in my guide, which use a similar tree except for the frenzy charges. Shadow and Ranger trees merge in around 60 points, more or less.

After seeing through the videos, I am really enjoying it, all the shatters, and the puncture ohh, it's amazing! I'm currently playing a ele buzzsaw shadow level 85, maybe I will respec into this build when the next passve skill reset kicks in, (oh, any1 know if there will be a passive skill tree reset in the upcoming august expansion?). It will work on shadow mostly the same right?

Yes, we'll get a tree reset, and shadow works just as well.

Also, any thoughts about using Blood Rage? It seems like the extra ~10% life leech (for 20 quality) and frenzy charges would be a pretty hefty bonus. IGNs

Frenzy charges are nice, but there's a point after which more life leech doesn't help, unless your life is quite high, due to the leech cap. The constant degen might be too high a price to pay for just the frenzy charges, depending on your chaos resist and base regen. If what you want is frenzy charges, you might be better off just shooting a Frenzy every 12 seconds or whatever.
