Looking for ideas on what to upgrade next.. puncture dps is sitting at around 14k with hatred and herald of fire and 4 powers charges. This is more dps than any other char I have had so I am happy! My life is around 3.3k. I can't run grace along with those other two auras... are people doing that? And if so how? I am getting one shotted by some things like a pack of devourers popping up on me, so would like to feel a bit less squishy (life is an issue I know).

I was thinking maligaros, since I have just saved enough for a cheaper one (20ish chaos), but I was wondering if that is really the best upgrade for gloves since you can find twice the attack speed on on rare gloves, and another 2-3% on crit chance isn't that huge.. is the crit multiplier the reason people like them? Maybe the combination of all three of those even if none by themselves is that great?

since survivability is your issue, I would upgrade your gear to have more survivability. I would try to get more life on your rings first off. Also, your CWDT immortal call is in the wrong order. You need to do:

CWDT - top left
*Enduring Cry - top right
*Immortal Call - bottom right
Increased Duration - bottom left

currently, your immortal call should go off before enduring cry, so it should last barely a fraction of a second. Also, you can level up your increased duration higher, support gems don't count for CWDT's level restrictions :)

How do you level up with this build guys ? Spectral throw or bows ?

I leveled up with a bow, but whatever leveling spec floats your boat should work as long as you're okay with respeccing

I'm surprised you are struggling, your gear in a few places is better than mine (My bow is slightly better and a 5-link I guess).
I'm running a bit more life - about 3.8k, but I had to gimp my damage a bit to even get there and max my resists - had to replace a pure damage quiver etc. Can't run Maligaros at the moment, was running the new unique gloves for crit, but had to replace that too for life and resists (Also to get 4 red links for CWDT)

I don't run Grace at all really - have it to hand (As well as haste for speed clearing low level areas) and levelling but basically just use Hatred and HoA (Linked with ele prolif and increased burning). Maybe will switch in Grace for higher maps (Only running up to 74 atm) but the freezes from Hatred as well as the damage are basically acting as defence for me. Don't think you can run all three without investing in Mana and the Charisma node, and don't think it's worth it.

But I feel fairly Tanky to be honest - I am running spell dodge and the extra dodge nodes though so maybe that is helping? Or perhaps the extra 500/600 life is important, enough to not get one shot and gives me time to pop a flask. I do use flasks quite aggressively too, I pop a Jade flask when I get too close, or if Devourers etc pop up, plus I pre-emptively pop my slower full life recovery flask so I will out regen damage. Flasks are incredibly powerful now. I am by no means a careful player, but I don't think I have died for a good 10/15 levels, apart from one desync (when I could/should have alt-f4'd) and one stupid attempt at face tanking the labyrinth boss. In contrast to my Arc build from the one month league, which on paper should be much tougher (Cloak of Defiance, high level arctic armour, overcapped resistances and running Granites) who dies if I lose concentration even for a second.
