Sheer Frustration: 27 5L's later, no 6L...... Yes, Twenty-fucking-Seven 5L's.

Stats:

• 5214 Jeweller's (to 6-socket 23 bases)
• 2474 Fusings
• 27 5L's
• 6L

I spent nearly a week of my time sitting in town, selling everything I had in my stash to purchase Jeweller/Fusing Orbs. Day-in day-out, trade after trade, Jeweller after Jeweller, Fusing after Fusing, 5L after 5L, and I have yet to see one 6L. Just one fucking 6L. I not only feel like I wasted my time, but also my sanity. This process of gambling (don't even try to call this crafting), and dealing with the absurd RNG is unrewarding to the nth degree. I have now spent a total of 105.7 Exalted Orbs worth of currency on this entire process.

I've gone through so many bases/jewellers/fusings, I've changed my build twice (and thus changed the base I was trying to 6L). And to those of you who are saying "imagine how happy you will be when you finally 6L!!!" -- I won't be. I already know right now, the feeling would simply be described as a sick, bittersweet contentment.


I now understand why many people prefer to just buy their items, instead of having to deal with the punishing "FUCK YOUR COUCH"-crafting system. And to a certain degree, I can also understand why RMT is as successful as it is.

You can trade for a 6L if you want one that badly. Silly to think you could make one for less. If you could, people would simply be creating 6Ls for a profit, and we'd see a geometric explosion of production. You simply will never be able to craft for a profit in a game like this.

Get real. Without netting myself probation: this type of stance is just ridiculous - as ridiculous as the current craft rates for 6L.

I dropped over 6K fuses also for no 6L and this is why I no longer play this game.


1K fuses should guarantee a 6L. And crafting should be viable in this game. Too bad they just want us to trade.


I feel pissed off for you OP. It's not ok that the current rates are set this way - despite the usual suspects who will come to GGG banner like the good little troll knights they are and berate you like it's your fault... and not their glorious game's prime issue.

6 is a luxury. If a build can not be sustained with 5 then you're doing wrong. Currently my character only has items with 4, and I'm happy with its performance :) (Marauder, lvl 73)

There's never a shortage of people who will defend the overtuned RNG in this game. By your logic, should there only be 1 6L in the entire realm?

I could have made this thread when I hit 800 fusings or even 1600 fusings. But I waited until 2474 Fusings and 27 consecutive 5L's, which is I believe is more than enough of a bad-luck streak to justify a closer look at whether this type of high-variance RNG is "fun". The current crafting system heavily discourages people from even touching it. Is this what GGG designed it to be like? For people to buy instead of craft? It took me months and months of grinding to collect the currency (105.7 Exalted Orbs) that I dumped into this 1 process. And I could be spending another 105.7 Exalted Orbs if RNG will be so kind to allow me to.

Also, a 6L is as much of an upgrade to 5L as a 5L is to a 4L. An upgrade to a 6L over a 5L isn't like upgrading from a 170%ES Shavronne's (current mid-roll) to a 250% Shavronne's (perfect-rolled legacy). A 6L essentially opens up an entire swath of builds that a 5L would be completely ineffective/dysfunctional with. A 6L is definitely not just a "luxury" item. It's a gateway to much of the viable end-game builds you see posted on these forums/YouTube.

Sorry, I still only hear crying that you didn't get what you wanted. If you really want it, trade for it or throw more fusings. You wouldn't be here if you had gotten it in 20 fusings so deal with that being the nature of RNG.
Also, there are changes to linking coming in the next 4 month leagues so you really don't have to come here and throw a temper tantrum about it.
