ReverendBizzarre: ele cleave templar [6k life, 45k+ dps]

Can anyone confirm whether or not the new +2 range node in the Duelist area works with cleave? It's a mighty tasty looking node right now, especially with that 12% IAS sitting right next to it.

it does not work with certain skills and cleave is one of them
Bummer, that would be sick if it did. I can't decide how I want to build my tree now.

I'm torn between:

40% Life

and

40% Armor
8% IAS

Or alternatively, I could scrap that whole route and go for AoE radius. WHAT TO DO?
Lvl 29 616 dps now :)

Still not sure about Inner Force i mean its not so far away u would have to spend 3 point on it!

any ideas?

and how does it feel now without blast radius and the increase area nodes?

Inner Force is incredibly good. I recommend it heartily. I also run 6 auras though. Can't wait for Level 20 Purity, 85% all resist! Only... 1 Billion exp to go...

Well, like i thought in the another thread, mine is very similar.

Few thoughts i have regarding the differences of our builds:

Inner force: anger and wrath double their effect with cleave, so also inner force gets doubled. So 30% increase to auras goes up to 60% increase. The dps boost is awesome.

Soul siphon: One of the really awesome things with cleave is the mana cost. 21 mana with 5 link for an aoe attack. Pretty much 1-3 shot mobs (now in merciless act3) and with soul siphon i get 25 mana back for each killed enemy. No need for mana leech gem --> could use culling strike for more dps or IIQ/IIR or life leech for added defences.
I happened to get +12 mana from kills on my gear (which i rather changed into something more useful) so not running out of mana that easily. For bosses i use instant mana flask, that fills my mana completely every use.

Both of these are ofcourse increases to dps, which aren´t that necessary for this build because the dps is nice to begin with. Also travelled to the starting area of shadow for +24% att.speed and some life.

Gear: This build is really flexible with gear.
My main goal is to get as much flat elemental mods on rings, amulet and gloves. This is because the flat elemenetal values get doubled to cleave.

On weapons i intend to get %weapon elemental and att.speed mods and on top of that 1-2 flat ele mods (could be crafted "easily" with regals). This is because as far as i know, the %weapon elemental damage on weapons also apply to the other weapons damage, the flat ele values do not.

Chest, boots and helm can be purely defensive (unless i get my hands on wakes too). I use ES gear with +life rolls on them. So far not very lucky with gear drops. (2,1k life and 900 ES)

But yeah. Pretty solid build =)

VictorDoom can you post your proposed build to Nugiyen from yesterday for HC... what would be the optimal build for HC ... or if someone wants to follow this one on HC - he just goes with the one that is already posted?

Waiting for you to update this thread and the Ranger one - gonna have to respec 85points tomorrow.

will this spec work with the upcoming cyclone skill too?

ele cyclone instead of ele cleave.

have to respec my templar from ls but can't decide if i should spec ele cleave, wander or w8 for cyclone.

k what do i have to sacrifice or inner force? any ideas im just lvl 38 not even sure if i should rush inner force now.
Hey, this would be fine starting up as a Ranger wouldn't it?

I just pick up the 8% attack speed node and obviously the starting evasion nodes then continue exactly like you have built it.

I can just drop the 3 armor nodes that you picked up in the Duelist area to compensate for me picking up the starting Ranger evasion nodes.
Steel skin isnt that important to pick up is it?
